Oh wow!
Sorry I haven't had anything like this before! I am a mozzie magnet too!
Hopefully you get better soon though!!!!!
On Saturday i was bitten several times on my ankle and also over my legs by mozzies. Yesterday my ankle became swollen. I had also had a bad reaction the week before when bitten by mozzies, which went away after a few days so just thought it was the same. However the pain is excruciating. So today after walking around a bit at the shops, my ankle started to really hurt. I went to the chemist who gave me some Sigmacort cream to put on it and also calamine lotion for the other ones. Tonight after removing my bandaid it looked terrible. DH convinced me to go to the after hours clinic, where i was told it was definately infected. The doctor gave me antibiotics for it and said if it gets worse in the next 24 hours to come back and i may need to be admitted to hospital on a drip. Ive been laying on the lounge since i got home (about 3 hours ago now) and now whenever i get up i can hardly walk on my foot.. i just get a shooting pain when i stand on it.
Just wondering if this has every occured to anyone else while pregnant? Im currently 26 weeks. Im normally a magnet for mozzies but have never had a reaction this bad to them.
TIA

I noticed mozzies seemed to like me more when pregnant and they seemed to be larger, itcher and more inflamed but didn't get an infection at all. Hoping it clears up soon hun!
Im not sure but are there any antihistamines you can take while PG? I get bitten badly all the time and the once worst time I was dosed up with phenergan to take the pain and itching away. (I was only 14 and was COVERED in them, I still have scars now)
I hope the ABs kick in and you dont need to be admitted, hope its better soon.
Thanks ladies..
When i went to the chemist yesterday she suggested an antihistamine and when i mensioned im pregnant she said oh yeh hmmm and went on to get me the sigmacort. Might have to do some more research but yeh bordering on the 3rd trimester unfort.
Ive been using the sigmacort on my ankle thats the bad one but calamine lotion with bandaids over it has been working well on the others so far, as for the itch.
Feels better over night, but did have my foot raised on a pillow over night, so guess will see what happens once its gets some blood back into it.
Thanks for your replies.
