    Baby bath and stand

What do you recommend for baby bath and stand?

I really liked the baths that come with the little hammock. I have yet to find these with a stand though and considering I am having a C-section. Think it could possibly be a must.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

The ones with the hammock are quite slim and to be honest, I wouldn't recommend them. The hammock is great but they grow out of the bath (even with the hammock removed) quite quickly. We bought the Love n Care bath and stand and the baby shop we bought it from happened to have some of the FP hammocks floating around so they gave us one and it fit! It was great for a little while but we really didn't need it and I think the bigger bath was a much better investment than buying the FP one just to get the hammock. All the moulding in it is unnecessary IMO too.

Honestly, we had the one with the hammock and I thought it was great...until DS was actually born. He hated it and screamed the entire time! He wasn't immersed enough so we took the hammock out but the bath itself was still quite shallow. We gave the whole thing to the op shop and just used our bath instead.
I can understand how doing this would be harder if you happened to have a CS, would your laundry trough be suffice? I've heard of lots of people using theirs as baby's bath!

We bathed DS in a laundry tub on the kitchen bench for the first two months. We had a bath with the moldings and as others have said it's just too shallow to give them a good wash in, not to mention they're half in half out and they get a chill.

We then got a bigger proper baby bath and used that the bench, but since about four months he's mostly had showers with DH.

TBH, I think it's a waste of money and space. Would your dh be able to help bath him with you if you have trouble?

Having had 2 sections and very long babies, I found a baby bath a PITA. The kitchen or laundry sinks were far easier to fill and empty and are at a great height.

I have an infa brand one where the bathtub slides out from under the change table. I love it and will be using it for the 3rd bub soon.
I used a hard, plastic insert thing to keep DD2 more upright when in the bath. I can't remember what it is called but I got it from Toys R Us.

We had a tummy tub for MJ and LOVED it and will use it again, i thinki used it every day until she was just under 1 and then we started having some big baths... I used it on the floor and on a table, but yu can get a stand with it.
I had a c/s and had NO problems with it at all.
    Would highly recommend

Ooo you guys are giving me so many ideas now. I am off to google a few of your ideas and really considering the laundry sink was just worried it was too low. I bend over it, whilst bathing my cat and by the end my back is killing me. ; )

I am all for not using up space though so might consider. DD was in the shower with dad each night as a newbie and loved it.

My baby bath fits into my change table- but i don't use it with the change table frame. I sit it on the kitchen bench next to the sink. i can fill it from the sink tap and then drain it into the sink (it has a hose plug) when i'm finished. it's a great height.

Bought a baby bath and stand off ebay and we only used for 6 weeks as it was blooming annoying to fill and empty, was easier to put small amount in bg bath and lie baby down in bath or take baby in shower.
