5.5 weeks - dark brown discharge

Hi all,
This is my first pregnancy and I am very worried as i have been experiencing dark brown discharge for about a week now. (began Monday). The first sign of it began after a mild cramp... it happens about 3 times a day and is about double the size of my thumb fingernail. No cramping now. Having an ultrasound tomorrow just to make sure things are progressing normal. My boobs started off really sore when i found out i was pregnant last week... but since spotting have settled a little. Still hurt when i press on them.. Sooo confused! don't know if this is normal, part of the process? i'm told this can happen in first tri-mester? anybody having or had similar symptoms? would really appreciate any advice as i can't sleep...

I had some brown spotting at 9 weeks and from my ticker you can see that my DD is 8 months old. I think that brown spotting can happen a lot in pregnancy. It's hard to stay calm when these things are happening though

With my second pregnancy I had cramping and brown spotting from 5-6.5w and as you can see she is now almost 2 years old! It was old blood apparently and is quite common. I hope the scan gives you some answers.

I didn't have any spotting except after my 11 week ultrasound (it loosened the old blood that was left over from when we conceived) and it was brown...
I'm sure it will be fine, bright red blood is more of a concern! And sometimes my boobs were sore all the time, others only when I touched them...
