I haven't done it but I looked in to it. TAFE as usually cheaper, expecially with their government training places they have going at the moment, you ony pay for materials which is about $50-60 a module, they are VERY cheap. That's in QLD but I think it's a federal government initiative. In my area they are $800 at TAFE. You do need to have your Diploma though, or at least be able to go through the RPL process

South Bank Tafe in Brissie. $50 per subject, so you pay learning material costs only. I hated it though, it's a really badly structured course and the learning materials and assignments are tedious and rubbish.

Oopsies, I read the title wrong. I was writiing about my diploma! Haha, I have completed my advanced dip through initially a company based at the sunshine coast, though I wouldn't recommend them at all they were very expensive. I switched to TAFE and ended up RPLing alot of it as I had been working as a director for quite a while. The rpl modules cost around $30 - $40. And I would second the sentiments about it being boring and tedious! Alot of the adv dip is about running a business, there's little to do with children, some to do with families, but alot of stuff to do with business plans, and marketing, etc.

In the end I think it cost me around $1500, but if I hadn't rpld it would've been closer to $2500. Are you a director or looking to be one? I would find it very hard going if I weren't a director at the time - hard to do the assignments when you don't have the access to that side of things iykwim.
