I am choosing to go naturally this time. I am 8w6d and yesterday was told although everything had grown proportionally we no longer had a heartbeat so it must have happened in the last 24 hrs before the scan.
Each other time I have been past 6wks I have had a D&C as when the m/c does start I tend to hemorrhage.
I did however agree to a D&C next Tuesday if nothing happens before then as we are away over Christmas and my OB doesn't want to run the risk of me hemorrhaging while out bush and hours away from any medical help.
I am having a last scan on Friday morning to confirm no heartbeat before going ahead with the hospital booking.
My first ever m/c at 9wks I had started spotting then bleeding before I even knew it was all over. I ended up with a D&C that afternoon.
With the m/c at 11w4d I had gone to the ER with spotting and lost the intact sac and baby 2 hrs later but then once again hemorrhaged and 24 hrs later with sinking blood pressure I was taken to theatre. The next loss at 7 wks I elected for a D&C as soon as we knew there was no heartbeat. This year I had a D&C at 9wks when we lost the last heartbeat with no growth since the last scan. I had 2 sacs then as well although one remained a blighted ovum.
This time we also had 2 sacs again and once again one developed and one didn't.
If we had had no growth over the last week I'd go ahead with no hesitation over the D&C but with growth til so recently I wondered if maybe it was just a wrong position.
I have no signs at all of an impending m/c and in fact seem more nauseous than I was before.
hun, i dont think it starts unless its ready to start iykwim i hope u are ok even though ur probably a mess right now.. i have no words but those of sympathy for u i noticed how mnay losses you have and have to say u are such a strong woman to handle all these.. i hope u get that child u obviously are longing for and get through this ok too...
BIG HUGS hun n u r in my thoughts xoxox
My last 2 m/c didnt start naturally, even when bub had been gone for a few weeks....
So with the first I went D&C, they were worried about infection as bub died almost 3 weeks before.
With Isaiah, I was booked to be induced, as he was too big to have a D&C.
This scared me to no end, so took some natural mediactions to bring on labour. With no bleeding and minimal cramping, my waters broke and he was born in just a few minutes.
So sometimes it just doesnt start on its own sweets.
Hi angelic dragon
I have mc at 16wks and had no idea the baby had died till I had my scan and I was still nauseus until then, my last mc was sept 09 at 12wks and again only had slight spotting and the scan revealed the baby had died weeks before, so I think our bodies try to protect the little baby even though there is no heart beat if I was you I would definately wait and have another scan just for your own peace of mind its so hard to swallow the fact baby has no heart beat when you still feel so pregnant I know how hard it is I was there last sept and I can only suggest you get another scan before you do anything and by then things might have started naturally then anyway
Big hugs and thinking of you at this dreadful time
Big Judy. So sorry to hear your news lovely. Like Zaki&Amali said you must be an incredibly strong woman to go through what you have & still have the courage to go after what you want in life. Everyone's body responds differently to mc so theres no hard and fast rule as to when and how long unfortunately. Glad they suggested the scan friday before making the D & C booking, I know it won't be any comfort but it will give you peace of mind. When I mc'd I started bleeding 8pm and lost my bub that night, but not everything so they booked me for D&C a few days after.
A few of my friends tell me their mc's happened within a few days of finding out they'd lost their bubs too. We all feel for you.
I was hideously sick until the day it happened...It is the only pregnancy I have ever had morning sickness.
I had a scan on the Thursday, no heartbeat, and opted to go naturally. They said it could take up to two weeks for my body to 'expel the products of conception'....(ETA They had stopped growing by measurements about a week earlier)
My miscarriage started on the Saturday with no warning at all (aside obviously knowing it was coming at some stage, but no physical signs to me). Heavy cramping, which having now gone through labour, were contractions. they got more frequent and stronger, then the bleeding started. I was in a ball on the floor for a few hours, sitting on a beach towel - it was the only thing I could use, I was soaking through pads so quickly.
Anyway, it lasted til Monday, when it got heavier again, and I went into hospital overnight to be monitored. I was sent for an US to see if there was anything retained, there wasn't so they sent me home. The bleeding subsided by Tuesday night/wed morning.
Best decision I ever made to go through it naturally, I wish you all the best - it is a steep rollercoaster you are about to go down, but was by far the healthiest option for me mentally.
I am so sorry for your loss, I hope you never have to go through this again xox
I didn't know I was pregnant when I had my miscarriage but it was very similar to LimeSlice. I just thought it was bad period pain. There wasn't any symptoms other than that and bleeding.
I'm so sorry for your loss angelicdragon, be kind to yourself.
I'm so sorry of your loss and past losses.
All of my m/c have been early and I just started spotting & knew that my babies were not to be earth ones. Cramping then started & heavier bleeding. I have had no D&C's, all my m/c have been natural.
Thinking of you.
