Baby wrong way up....surely its not an issue yet???

I had an appointment with my GP yesterday, but it wasnt my normal (read:awesome) GP. He had a feel around and tutted, told me that baby was bottom down and that id have to keep an eye on that otherwise there would be problems....what the hell is that ment to mean!!!!
I didnt ask him any questions cause to be honest i really didnt want to hear anything he had to say. il wait till i see my midwife in a few weeks.
But i cant help worry and wanted to know if the fact that baby wasnt head down yet was a problem...im only 28 weeks!
Was your baby this way up at this point, how/when did they turn, is there anything i could/should be doing to help it turn? should i just ignore the stupid GP thanks in advance!

this bub is still moving in every direction he possibly can, i think hes tryingto avoid the head down position for aslong as possible!! ur bubs not the only one hun xxx

ETA - pretty sure this bub was transverse at that stage, btw

There's still loads of room to move hun, I'd speak to your midwife in a few weeks like you say though xxxx

I got told DD was bottom down at 28 weeks but my Ob said there was still SO MUCH time for her to change positions so no big deal at all. He also told me percentages and it was very very likely she would turn around. Then at 32 weeks when he checked again and she was still bottom down he said very very likely she will turn and gave me more percentages that sounded favorable. My DD turned at 39 weeks! But apparently she is in the minority. I wouldn't waste any time worrying about it, you've still got ages to go

Pffft to that GP. Take it with a pinch of salt. There is plenty of time for bubs to get into the right possie hun.

While its not the way you want things, my DS ended up flipping in my 38th week of pregnancy - but he went from head down to bum down at the eleventh hour - as I say, not what we wanted but proof they move until quite late in the piece.

DD had a different end pointing up each weekly appointment until about 36 or 37 weeks, so there is definitely plenty of time for moving. I don't know if my ob checked the position at 28 weeks (if she did she didn't say what it was) because it's not really an issue at that stage. Ignore him!

DD was flipping til the day I was induced even lying horizontal. They had to check several times her head was down prior to breaking my waters (36 weeks due to PE symptoms). Plenty of time yet. It sounds like the GP is pretty inexperienced in this area. There is plenty of room yet!

Definately no need to worry. DS was breech at 28 weeks but had turned by 33.

Phew....thank ladies, just the reasurance i was after!....i think your right CL, i dont think he did many antinatals...maybe i should have set him straight!

LOL... yeah ignore him. PLENTY of time for bubs to turn! Many don't turn till the mid 30 weeks.

yeah defently ignore him. my babies turnt right up to birth (DS1 was head first at start of labour by 7cm's he was transverse and got himself wedged! lol)
DS2 was always turning ended up being breech (thank god i knew i have to have an elective c section)
now this little one is always transverse! i had a scan monday (28weeks) and there he was lying down lol. (he takes after his daddy, his daddy says why sit when you can lye lol!)
my ob said even if i was having a natural birth it wasnt any concern, babies turn alot and if you are carrying extra fluid (i did with both, unsure this time will see when they break waters lol) they can move abit more easy.

My bub was head down at 28 weeks and frank breech at birth. I ended up having a drug free, vaginal breech birth in a public hospital (because we pushed for it and they had OBs on call who could handle it). Bub's got plenty of time to move and breech does not always equal c/s.

DD1 was apparently head down and engaged but ended up coming feet first and i think she only turned the night before.
I don't think there is any need to worry just yet, they move so often at this stage, like someone has given them a heap of chocolate and said GO FOR IT

My DS1 was breach until 36weeks and my DS2 was breach until around the same time. Neither of them were small babies either - in fact my DS2 was a 10 pound bub. So don't even worry, bubs will likely change posistion a number of times before you need to even consider the idea of a breach bub.

Yeah, don't worry. My Ob and MW aren't concerned about position of baby yet. I'm 27 weeks. They told me that they move into all sorts of positions at this stage just because they have room to move. I can actually feel the kicks in different parts of my belly at different times of the day so mine is definitely on the move all the time.
