    Gentle parenting win

DS was a shocking sleeper from birth but I always felt that CC wasn't for us. The last few weeks, everything seems to have clicked into place for him. No teething, no viruses, busy days. He doesn't really show tired signs but we usually just work by the clock. Once we start his bedtime routine, his eyes close and he is ready for bed. No more rocking, singing, patting etc etc etc. He has a quick cuddle with me while he has his bottle, goes into his cot and lies there without a fuss. Usually I need to stay with him until he's alseep but the last few weeks, I've been able to leave the room while he's still awake and he just goes to sleep without making another sound Sometimes he calls out to me but this is getting less & less. He was waking 3 -4 times a night, sometimes taking over an hour to resettle. Now he's sleeping through. If he does wake, it's usually because he can't find his dummy so I give it back to him & he goes straight back to sleep! Nap times are no longer an issue either. I ask him if he's ready for non-nights and sometimes he'll go straight to his room, close his blind and ask for his dummy . All this without CC or CIO. Our boy is very happy most of the time and so am I. I'm feeling so proud of myself for persevering with gentle methods.

So for those of you who are battling through the sleep issues with your little one's - there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks so much for posting this hun. It gives me hope for my very, very unsettled DD. Good on ya for gentle parenting too!

Rowellan, I so needed this post today. Thank you hun.

I'm so glad for you because even though I know the relief (worked the same for DD), I'm so frustrated ATM. Good to hear someone else getting some relief.

Too good! I've found that as my DS is getting older (turned one recently) he is settling into routine/better eating/better sleeping/etc too. It's a relief, I must say after all the input (breastfeeding/babywearing/cosleeping/etc)
