Should i take her to the vet?

I have a cavoodle and she has a knot of hair hanging from her lady bits for a while now , we tried to cut of off but was hard for her to let us do it.
She started to lick iot non stop so we held her down and cut it off, it didn't cut her at all, just hair

Now her lady bits are swollen as, and red and she wont stop licking them, she isnt herself and will only eat or drink if we hand feed her..she is still herself in other ways though eg wants to go inb car/walk

We were hoping she would stop licking by now, should we take her to the vet? Or do you think she may have just irritated it from all the licking

:yeahthat: I was going to say if she's not fixed I'd definitely take her, it could be that something else entirely has caused the swelling and it's totally unrelated to the knot

Poor little bugger I'd be taking her to the vets, could she have a grass seed stuck in there? That can be painful and you can't always tell as they bury in

Hi Shell, I was going to mention that it sounds suspiciously like a potential grass seed as well. Especially because there was a matt there to begin with. Grass seeds can often get caught in matts and then penetrate into the skin. Also, if you have lots of grasses or something that she walks or lays on, she may have developed an allergy. It's common on dogs bellies and genital regions when the new grasses start growing when the weather warms up.

Good luck and I hope everything is resolved quickly!
