    Which ERGO carrier?

I've just been on the Ergo site and there are so many different types of Ergo, which one to get??????

Getting it for DH for his Christmas.

    Thanks

I was in this same conundrum lol

I tried on and looked at all the shops had, and I found that basically all the carriers except the sports one were very thick and would be very warm to use in summer. Not to mention for bubs too.

The sports one is ALOT lighter and the material can breathe alot more, Can extend further on the straps, and IMO looks nicer with the black fabric and white stitching

Plus it still has the hood and whatnot as the other types do.

    Oh, and it's also cheaper!!!

I've owned both the standard ergo and the sport. I needed the sport to fit my DH because he's quite tall and wide as well, so the standard one wouldn't fit him. Plus its a thicker material than the sport, so it was fairly hot in queensland, whereas the sport one was fine.

The original has snaps on their sleeping hood though, whereas the sport has clips, and the snaps are MUCH easier to do up yourself when you have a sleeping baby on you!!!

Both are good, but I sold both of mine because they were too short in the body for my kids (who are very tall).

Thanks guys, that's really helpful. I guess the sport would suit us better being in Brisbane and HOT and DH is muscly too so the sport sounds bigger.

I hadn't actually seen an Ergo in the flesh before until the other day when my friend had one for her DS. I've been meaning to get one for DH for ages but this has made me want to do it faster

Just keep in mind what I said about the body length - I found the babyhawk Oh snap fit my DH just as well as the ergo sport (without needing an extender belt) but the back of the carrier is longer, so bubs don't seem like they are going to fall out.. lol

Of course, it doesn't matter if your bub isn't on the tall (freakishly tall like mine anyway!) side.

Haha, Mel thanks for that. Dh and I aren't tall and DD isn't really long - well, she's getting longer obviously but not too long. I think we'll be good with that.
Might just have a look at the Babyhawk oh though! Haha, I hate asking questions about slings, I always end up totally confused!

YAY! Just ordered it and there was free express delivery.

Although I was initially on the American Ergo site and they are only $105 USD there and because the dollar is like for like just now, that makes it $105 AUD. But postage bumped it up and no doubt it would take forever to get her being the Chrissy period and all.

    YAY!

    Yay!!

Glad you got an awesome price too!

I bet your DH will be grateful

Did it give an estimate to how long it'll take?

It's coming in express post so I assume in the next couple of days once it's shipped Am hoping that it at least gets here in time for Christmas. Would be great if it was sooner though! DD is getting way too big for the Baby Bjorn - despite it saying that it can take babies up to 12kg. I can't see how a BB can take that at all! DD is just over 8kg and it's very snug!

Yeah, he loves it! Took DD out for a walk earlier and she fell asleep almost instantly (she is sick just now though). I'm glad I bought it!
I like it too but the Bubba Moe is our thing

What model (sport or normal) did you end up going with?

and importantly what colour? trying to decide between predictable black or something like cranberry

We got the sport in black. It's made of really gorgeous material.
