Has anyone used Auralgan ear drops during pregnancy?
I have a "beautiful" ear infection (as the doctor put it) and DH got these drops from the chemist when he picked up my antibiotics - but he forgot to ask the pharmacist if they are safe to use during pregnancy.
Google searches don't tell me much, to contact my doctor if I was pregnant and looking to use the stuff - or that not enough testing has been done yet.
So thought I would put it out here and see if anyone got told by their doc that it was safe to use?
maybe give 13health a call and see if anyone can help you on there.
i hate ear infections. olive oil can help soften the wax in ears too if that is any use to you.
good luck,.
I was looking for info on ear drops as well....have stupidly been using Clear Ear drops (carbramide peroxide) without checking if safe for pregnancy! So now worried. Silly me, too many other thinks going on. Google search says "ask dr before using" and "unknown effects".
You'll find almost every drug you google will say that because no-one will actually test them or there is not enough info to make a statement and everyone is afraid of getting sued. Do you need to use the ear drops tonight or would the antibiotics be ok for now until you can ask your pharmacist in the morning?
