Face is breaking out in pimples! Is there anything that helps?

Im into my second trimester and my face has gone sooooo oily! Yuck!

I have a shower at night and wake up in the morning feeling greasy. My face has started breaking out in pimples on my jawline & forehead. I scrub & cleanse morning & night when I shower. I don't moisturise as this normally makes me break out anyway & I use ten-o-six pimple cream. Plus the hundred trips to the loo every day tell me Im drinking plenty of water :P.

Is there anything that heps with the break outs during pregnancy?? Can someone reccomend something thats worked for them?

I had serious acne during my second and third pregnancies - started at about 8 weeks, and then disappeared by 20 weeks. Was difficult to take cos I don't usually get pimples (just the odd one or two anyway!)

I think its a hormone related thing, and I blamed it on the fact that I was pregnant with girls

(however, this one is apparently a girl as well, and I haven't had any acne at all, so there goes that theory!!)

So I didn't do anything, I just let it be and it went on its own.

Its all your hormones. I got pretty bad at one stage.

I don't think there is anything you can do to prevent them unfortunately

Try switching to a really gentle cleanser because I found the harsher the product, the more oil my skin produced. I had to switch from a scrub because i was getting the most painful pimples. now i use the neutrogena gentle cleanser and my skin has cleared. i also use a moisturising gel (cream is too heavy) because if i don't my skin tries to overcompensate once again and I get oily

I use the avon maximum moisture super hydrating gel. I have super sensitive skin and it doesn't make me itchy or spotty. Plus it absorbs straight in! It's not greasy like a cream and I can't feel any residue when it's on

I had terrible pimples while pregnant with DD. I even had them on my back and I've never had pimples on my back! Nothing really helped TBH. I even tried Proactive (that one advertised on TV) which helped a bit but I sent it back as it smelt potent and bleached my good sheets and towels! I really didn't want to be using something that powerful on my skin although my OB had checked the ingredients and said it was fine.

Maybe try products that are specifically designed for oily skin. I use Dr Lewinns products now and think they are fabulous.

Ive been using olay cleanser for oily/sensitive skin, Im a bit sensitive too and cant use things like clearasil or some of these other pimple things as they sting my face.

Bugger it sounds like I'll just have to live with it for the next 5 months.

Did you all have them the whole way through your pg?

Sorry to say it but yes. The ones on my back cleared up in the second tri but I had a few pimples on my face at a time pretty much constantly until DD arrived -then all my pregnancy related issues magically disappeared!
