    Does this sling exist?

Hi ladies, hoping someone may be able to help. I already have a Mei Tai and a HAB but I'm now after a sling that will allow me to do the cradle hold. I'm not a big fan of ring slings with the long 'tail' of material as I think it will just get in the way and the Bubba Moe and Minimonkey don't look like they would be very comfy with the thin straps. So I'm wondering is there a sling that allows you to do the cradle hold, that I can just slip on without have to tie bits of material and that is comfy? I have an idea of what I want but I just can't seem to find it! Any help is appreciated!

Hmm just had a look at the peanut shell - that's kinda what I'm after. Have you used it - is it very comfy?

Yep I loved mine. I made it myself using the Karma Babies Pattern but there are quite a few brands.
We only just stopped using ours in the last few months (my little guy is 2 in Feb), so versatile I found.

I'd say either the peanut shell sling or hot sling.

I don't find them particularly comfortable, but that doesn't mean that they won't be for you.

I was going to suggest a hotsling too. I found it to be really versatile

I know that you said you don't like ring slings because of the tail, but you can wrap the tail around the rings and it doesn't get in the way at all. I was the same about ring slings initially but they are so much more comfortable for cradle carry than anything else, because a comfortable (and most of all safe) cradle carry is utterly dependent upon a good, firm fit. The only disadvantage about pouches (hotslings, peanut shell, et.al.) is that they cannot be adjusted at all. You may find that a size that fits properly for a newborn in cradle hold will be too small for an older baby. Although, if it is a little too big you can fold a small blanket or muslin and place it in the pouch to get a correct position (baby should not be deep in the pocket, and should not slump or have a curved back with chin to chest).

If you plan to get a pouch, you may want to wait until bubs is born to get a correct fit.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Good point suse about not being able to adjust the pouch slings, I was just going to ask that as none of the pictures I found show the back of the sling. Might have to do some more searching.

I have the Karma baby one too. Didn't use it for newborn but for hip carry when DD was older. Was really useful to just quickly put on to duck into the shops but not comfy for long periods of time.

For those that used the Baba sling - are they adjustable? I read they have a buckle?

The one I have is adjustable. Dh & I both use it and adjusted it accordingly.
