Talking Just did a test and it's positive!!!!!! But I ate all the bad stuff at christmas!Help

    Hello lovely ladies,

I just had to share with someone as I am at home alone today and DH is at work! I just did the pee test, thinking here we go again!!! And it is positive!!!! OMG I can't believe it!

I honestly can't believe it and am crying, running around the house and smiling like a crazy woman! lol I had to tell someone

But among this craziness can anyone help me rest my mind????
Because of xmas time, I couldn't resist the temptation to have a champaign or two and ate all the things that you shouldn't eg: soft cheeses, processed meat, prawns.....

I am so regretful now. Did any of you ladies indulgde at first without even knowing your pregnant? Is the risk of a misscarriage greater now? I know it may seem silly but I honestly didn't think it would of happened this fast and this is my first attempt

Please rest my mind as I head out to the shop and buy organic food

    Thanks.xox

    woohoo! Congrats!

I wouldn't stress too much about what you ate/drank over christmas. They are pretty well protected in those early weeks, I'm sure so many would drink without realising they were pregnant. With the food thing I'm sure it will be fine, they are only 'guidelines' and the risk of contracting listeria is pretty low anyway.

Congrats again, wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy!

Haha I'm sure all will be fine - stress less. I remember getting absolutely trashed at a farewell dinner for someone at work before I knew I was pregnant with DS - and I was soooooo drunk its not funny.

But he's fine - no ill effects here... LOL

    First of all congratulations

Don't worry about what you have eaten over the Christmas period. The main concern with many of these foods is that when you are pregnant your immunity is lower and therefore you are more likely to be affected by listeria. If you have not been made sick by them, then you have bypassed the risk.

I'm the same - had a glass of champers, and a dessert soaked in Bailey's on Christmas day...not to mention cold turkey the next day...I got my 2nd BFP (more clear than Monday) today, and suddenly thought 'oh crap what have I been eating?'.

Next big task for me is weaning myself off of Coke...hmm

    WoW! CONGRATULATIONS!!! woot!!

It is very unlikely that any of the bad stuff that you ate or drunk has passed through to the fetus if you are still fairly early in the pregnancy And if your not crook, then Bubby is fine too!

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

2 days before I got my BFP it was Anzac day... and my husband is in the army... need I say more??? LOL.
In the first 6 weeks they are protected pretty well by a sack so that's why when we don't know we are pregnant, the bubs are still ok!!!

    Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy.

Don't stress too much about what is done and dusted. In regards to the food, you would have already felt the effects if you had gotten food poisoning/listeria from them. The fact that you are so early in the pregnancy means that the baby has a good chance of not having gotten any of the effects of the alcohol at all. The first two weeks is before conception so all fine there. Then after that there is all the days it takes for the embryo to make it's way to the uterus and implant, so still fine there. And even after that the embryo is getting all it's nutrients initially from the yolk sack. So chances are that the embryo never even got a sniff of the alcohol

Congratulations!!! If it helps put your mind at ease I found out I was pregnant with DD2 whilst tipsy it was just after midnight Xmas morning been drinking for a while and started vomitting quite strange was only tipsy realized I was late straight away did a test and it was positive.
Soft cheeses are generally ok in aus as they can't sell anything that's unpasterised which is where the problem generally lies and I still eat deli meats etc
