Made my first ever batch of jam today!

Have a huge excess of apricots which are ripe NOW so decided to make jam with some of them, which I have never done before. Quite proud of myself! It only made 4 and a bit jars so will make another lot tomorrow. Tasted a bit from the pot and oh wow, so yum, but so sweet too (I am cringing at the amount of sugar that went into it!). Getting a head start on my granny skills

I still have about 20kg in boxes on the bench

Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link to the blog that had the recipe on here, but will pm it to you. Most of the recipes I found were 50/50 fruit and sugar, but this one had a bit less sugar than fruit so I went with it.

Yum! Did you split the kernels? I can never be bothered but live jam with the kernels in it. Yum.

Maz If you can't don't them all, wash them and freeze them. You can even leave the stones in and fish them our when you make the jam at a later date.

Nope, no kernels required with this one. Seemed a bit complicated for me
Am going to either stew or freeze raw the rest of the apricots I have left. Mum said I could make jam with frozen apricots, just leave out putting in water because there'll be enough in the apricots.
hope all my friends and family like jam..
