Yes, you can do them in the slow cooker. I would leave it on low for the day, with water added to cover the bottom half of the meat. Flip it over a time or two if you are at home. Also if you add in a chopped onion or apple it makes it a bit softer (according to my mum).

I do a corned beef in the slow cooker every fortnight!!
    Comes out AMAZING!!!!

I put it on low, 6 hrs with a little water, vinegar, brown sugar and whatever flavours I have.. usually soy sauce and worsteshire.. turn it over half way to get the liquid on all of it to soak through... tastes awesome!!!

Just chuck it in the slow cooker with a bay leaf 1/2 cup water, a heaped tablespoon of brown sugar a nice splash of balsamic and about 5 whole peppercorns. Leave it on all day. Baste if you feel the need and by night you'll have a tender beautiful Corned Beef...

Yummmmo we always do it in the slow cooker! Lots of brown sugar and vinegar! Make sure when you have finished cooking it you leave it in the water- sounds a bit yuk but keeps it soft so you can cut it up for leftovers the next day!

My dad uses a pressure cooker so I donno if this will work, but he also puts orange in with it to cook, gives it a nice tangy flavour
