I'm supposed to be 36 weeks tomorrow. It's starting to really pull me down again, so I was considering dragging Professor away for a weekend around my EDD and doing all the stuff I couldn't do if I were pregnant. Maybe I'll call it a (Lost)Babymoon, HA! I think I'm going crazy
We did it for the EDD of our first pregnancy. As it drew closer I was really starting to crumble, and I thought it would end up being a miserable few days down south. We had such a great time, we didn't spend the whole time down about the reason we were there, we just enjoyed being together. Really together. The place we stayed offered a tree planting program too and we planted one in memory, we went back the following year at the same time too.
And we ate HEAPS of soft cheese and visited a stack of wineries too
We did with our first bub's EDD. We spent a few days in Tasmania. We were supposed to be doing all the naughty wine and food things but I was pregnant again.
By the sound of it, you really need to do something to commemorate this time Being able to reconnect and grieve for your little one away from the 'normal' everyday things you do is a fab idea
Yeah, we did that too babe. A good friend had HER baby on MY EDD which nearly killed me so DH and I went to Sydney and got wonderfully drunk! It was such a good thing to do. We bought a wee bottle of bubbly for our angel baby xxxx
Sounds like the perfect way to remember. I love the idea too of planting a tree. Ive also heard of watching the sun rise.. as its the most magical time of day.. with a glass of wine or champagne in hand. And this is just an idea.. but I thought of writing a message in the sand at sun rise.. then taking a photo so I could keep it forever.
Hugs
We did. On the EDD of Caitlyn we went to an upmarket place in the city for the weekend, had a degustation French dinner, massage for both of us and a facial for me. Lots of wine. A bath. Candles and a day in the Rocks. We just spent time together. Loving each other and supporting each other as we remembered what we should have been doing, not the situation we were in. It was nice as a couple to just be together and it was important for us to remember our baby who was meant to be joining us but instead left us too soon.
ETA: DH actually bought a star that we had named after Caitlyn. We went into the city to see the star which is around for about 6 weeks at the time of her EDD. As per her usual behaviour, it was cloudy and raining She sends the clouds and the rain for important events and was true to form for this too. We still haven't seen that star and now DH is one of them too
