I'm considering where to put the babies capsule when bub arrives. Currently DD11 sits either in the front or the back row of seats on the left side. DD4 is in a car seat in the middle on the left side. Now I have a patrol which is high up and I think I'll struggle to lift the capsule into the base with new bub in it. So wondering if its best for new bub to go on the left as maybe it will be easier to get the capsule in or in the middle as maybe its easier to lieft the capsule onto the spare seat and then lift it into place in the middle whilst DD4 goes to the right side.
If anyone else has a 7seater especially a large high car where have you put your car seats and do you find it difficult getting your babies into them?
I had DS on the left side, so behind the passenger seat. I have a Pajero and initially it was hard to lift him in but I quickly got used to it. I used to stand on the side rail to get him out in the early days.
But I didn't have a capsule which would probably be easier than lifting bubs into the reclined seat like I did. Next time I'll be using a capsule
I have the capsule in the middle & DS on the passenger side, so he gets out on the safe side.
Also because we need to access the back seat in our 7 seat wagon, we drop the seat down on the drivers side & thats where the girls get in & out, but only when I stand at the door if its to the road, they know that
Thanks for your replies. I didn't even think about the left side been the safe side getting out (just the safe side in alot of accidents) Maybe I'll put bub in the middle and DD on the left so big DD can still have the back. I don't want all 3 in the middle row of seats unless I'm desperate.
We did have all ours on the back seat (the middle row) because all three car seats fit on there. Baby behind passenger, oldest in the middle, middle child on the outside behind driver.
Now we have:
Baby behind passenger, oldest and middle child in the far back row. We have taken out a seat behind driver so the kids can climb in behind the passenger seat (from the safe side) and then get into their seats, and I can climb in behind the driver's seat (need a lot of room for my big preggy tummy and bum!) and secure them in their seats.
When the new baby comes, new baby will go behind passenger, and third child will move into the middle of that row, and I'll still have room to get in and out and secure the other two into their seats.
Our kids in carseats are currently in the middle seats (captains chairs) but will move into the back row in the coming weeks. DD2 will be on the drivers side, DS2 in the middle and bub on the left side. We can remove the captains chairs to make access easier and put them in when the older 2 are actually with us.
