    Anyone used Spironolactone?

I went to my Dr today and discussed my "hair" issues with him. He has suggested I try Spironolactone and told me that it won't give me results straight away but to give it a few months and I should see an improvement. I am going to fill the script tomorrow and am just curious as to how other women went on this?

    TIA

I was on Aldactone for a few months, I noticed my chin hair grew slower (Im plucking every bloody 2nd day now!) and only nairing my moustache every 3 days, I dont have PCOS tho - must be the mediterranean blood through my veins.

My Dr did warn me, to ensure i do NOT fall pregnant while on these meds as its designed to suppress the testosterone in your body.

I hope this works for you.

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, there will be no babies here... factory is closed at the moment. I have Implanon in my arm, so super dooper minimal chance of that happening!
Off to get them this morning.... a little excited I must say!

I used it for a while a few years ago and while it slowed and thinned the hair growth it wasnt as effective as I hoped.

I did still have to nair and pluck but not as much so I guess thats a good thing.

Laser is apparently effective for hirsutisim but sadly not in our budget. Good luck I hope it gives you some joy.

Wow, that's awesome PO5. I would be stoked if that happened here!

FM- If it only slows the hair growth I will be happy. It drives me mental, I could pluck, wax and shave all day!
