Did you have a CS or VB hun? It does suck, but then hopefully you will have a nice long holiday from any bleeding

My bubs is 12 days old and I have already had like 4-5 days with only random bleeding for like 10-20mins or no blood at all!! I am onto normal or overnight pads so not wearing the huge thick maternity ones which is nice!

My VB lochia last longer than my CS, it was more than 4 weeks. It does suck, but it you really appreciate it when it stops.

MrsB - I went all the way down to "medium flow" pads, and then had a huge bleed while shopping, had to buy new undies and stuff So now using overnighter pads all the time and it's driving me batty.

I do have a selection of cloth pads, but the "wings" on them, the snaps, are rubbing my thighs too

Nickle - this may sound silly, but how did you know the difference between lochia & AF?

The lochia was dark/brownish blood and had a particular mmmm... odour to it. Not offensive, but quite earthy. AF was bright, a little clotty and came with some cramps. The odour was quite different and smelt like fresh AF blood. Sorry...TMI. The two bleeds were very different.

I used Poise regular pads for my lochia. They are slim (not chunky) but because they are designed to absorb urine they had no trouble at all even with heavy bleeding. They also seemed to work wonders at absorbing the odour and I never felt concerned that I might be a bit whiffy.

Maybe 6-7 weeks? But I needed surfboards for most of that, then very thin liners would have sufficed for the lochia side of things.

Re the chaffing, have you got some exercise shorts or bike pants (not lycra though!) or thin gym pants or similar that you can wear, so nothing other than the thin material is between your thighs and anything else? may reduce the chaffing ...
