    who hoo - new thread

did an o/night soak with RG and it's cleaned up most of my inserts - had a couple of really grey ones (blueberries and dymadon/neurofen stains) that didn't quite come out but I've just put them in for another long soak.

WOBB - sposie cause he's at CC and that's what they wear.

You can and someone is usually able to answer them or have a suggestion at least.

Hi all. Haven't been online much the past few days, still a bit shell shocked.

Had to come in today though. Got our Delicate Delights nappies this morning
LOVE the fit. They're OSFM, but haven't got a very high rise on them, so while they fit DD great, I'm not so sure they'd fit DS (most of my OSFM do).
Might try one on him, just to know.
I layby'd them before christmas... really should've thought that one through... One is a christmas nappy!

About to put quite a few nappies on FB. Want to get more IBs & maybe a couple more DDs.
Trying to decide if I'm ready to put my NB covers on there or not... But if I did I guess the prefolds would have to go on too... But I'm not ready! Even though I'm not using them... lol.

A new thread - woot woot!

Clover........when you are ready to part with your prefolds and newborn covers, I might be interested in buying them if you wanted to sell them to me? Just PM me if you are interested. No pressure and no hurry.

Mummyof4 - yep, ask them here. MCN's are confusing! It took me ages to figure them out but after you "get" it, it's easy peasy. I was explaining them to a girlfriend yesterday (another convert) and the look on her face was priceless. She seemed totally overwhelmed and I think the biggest problem is you can't just go down to Target, Myers etc and have a look at them. So it's all a bit uncertain. When I first got my nappies, I ordered about 4 or 5 different ones just to see what they were like and feel them and try them on my cabbage patch doll LOL

I am jealous of all the new fluff you ladies are acquiring. I want some new nappies but DD has a massive stash!!

ok so washing.... you just chuck them All in a dry bucket as you take them off or do you rinse them first?

You wash them just with other nappies too?
    How many do i *NEED*
I know the Itti Bitti tutto's fit Ds great but do all the other Itti Bitti's fit the same way? or is it all trial and error?

Terry flats.. can i use them on my little 6 week old without a cover at home? just ordered a Twinkle lilly cover! but wanted to used them while i wait!
and i dont need to soak my flats?? i used flats with both my older boys but it was all so different back then! we soaked them and used thoes horrid plastic pants

hmm it hink that is about it for now!

    ohh opps i just ebayed!!

Mummy of 4 - yup chuck everything in bucket. Only thing I rinse is the poo ones to get the poo off first.

Wash them all in together - flats, MCNs, wipes etc.

Dunno how many you need - its a hard one to answer. Depends on weather where you are, how often you wash, how many in cloth etc etc. I have around 15 MCN's I think and its definitely not enough for 2 in cloth.

Can't answer the itti question - I only had D'lish here.

You can use flats without a cover, just be mindful if you put him down on anything and he does a big wee, whatever he is on will get damp.. lol

Mel - Delicate Delights is Squid

Mymmuof4 - I use flats at home with no cover on occasion. We used them in hossy too
Not sure about the tutto fit compared to others Itti's, I love itti's but have no tutto's.

I dry pail all nappies & wash them all together, no powder & lots of sunlight

yep j's in flats at home sometimes with no cover too.

A large itti bitti fits j the same as a tutto, however the sized itti's don't have the "poo fence" and I don't know how they go containing NB poop... i spose they would go ok tho, the legs are pretty good around them. i'm not really 100% sold on the elastic tho, the tutto elastic around the legs seems sewn in much stronger, and seems tougher in general but the sized ones seem a bit fragile?

none of that probably made an ounce of sense.

    ok so washing....

    (1) you just chuck them All in a dry bucket as you take them off or do you rinse them first?

    (2) You wash them just with other nappies too?
    (3)How many do i *NEED*
(4)I know the Itti Bitti tutto's fit Ds great but do all the other Itti Bitti's fit the same way? or is it all trial and error?

(5)Terry flats.. can i use them on my little 6 week old without a cover at home? just ordered a Twinkle lilly cover! but wanted to used them while i wait!
and i dont need to soak my flats?? i used flats with both my older boys but it was all so different back then! we soaked them and used thoes horrid plastic pants

    ohh opps i just ebayed!!
Okay - just numbered your Qs so I can answer the ones I can.

    1) - yep you can just chuck them in the nappy bucket (at least the wet ones - pooey ones need to be rinsed/poo removed). I sometimes rinse wet ones - usually the o/night ones if I remember or change them (DH does the first change most mornings while I'm getting ready). The night ones can get rather whiffy if they don't or they don't get washed that day.
    2) all nappies go in the same wash for me - make sure you only use a very small amount of detergent (about 1 teaspoon I think is the recommended amount) and DO NOT use fabric softener - reduces the absorbancy
    3) NEED - (you always want more) about 12 or so is about what I remember someone suggesting for washing every 2 days. (I've currently got all the solid IB's in the snap-ins so I've got about 16. and I've just hidden under DS's cot my stash of ~10 GreenKids (OSFM -One Size Fits Most) as my back ups - haven't used them in months. I also have 5 Genessa Forge super super trim night nappies so I can have at least 2 dry at a time (these have 17 layers of bamboo in them)
    4) Haven't tried the IB Tuttos - have considered getting one to see how it goes (and for the next one whenever that may be) so can't comment there. IBs are a narrow crotch. I can't think of other brands that are narrow crotch at the moment (GKs are wide crotch so DS gets a bit of a camel toe look when he did wear them)

Can be pretty much trial and error to get the right fit for each child (so I'm told)

    5) can't comment on flats as I haven't used them on my DS - do remember using them on my brothers as a kid (I presume my sisters too but I wasn't changing their nappies as I was too young to help mum) - depending on how warm it is where you are, you might be able to get away with no cover.

i have a HUGE problem! df was washing something from the shed in the laundry tub, and well spilt it in the nappy bin.... ds2 helps put the dirty ones in the laundry, and sometimes (this being one of those times) forgets to close the lid... well now i have these black splash marks all over a handfull of nappies!i rinsed them with cold water, got the chunky bits off, and washed them with the eco store, but the marks were still there, poo ones all gone, ive put them back in the wash, and its been on pause for the last hour or 2 soaking, this stuff is horrid, its like grease i get it out of his clothes with bleach, but i know thats a big NO-NO. would it come out in the sun, next wash? theres no sun anywere today, just grey clouds. im going to be megga peed if they dont come out (even tho it WAS an accident)
i guess if it dosent come out, i could hold it against him for new nappies, at his expence!..

with ittis, i love them, i just got a tuttio as my dd is out growing her medium dlish, shes 11 months arround 12k, and chunky as. not sure on the tuttio fitting the same havent had a chance to use it yet... keep forgeting its there
i started with 5 and just had one day here and there sposie free while i built the stockpile up. not sure how many you would need for a little bub tho.
