Buying a pram from OS - how does the warranty work?
Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a 2011 Baby Jogger City Select from the US due to great prices at the moment. However I'm not sure how the warranty would work? If I have a problem can I deal with Baby Jogger directly or do I have to deal through my seller in the US?
I believe you will be on your own in terms of warranty. You could ship it back to the US, but that would cost $$. I would imagine that you could pay to have it fixed here, but I'm not positive. I do know (from my own research on this topic some months ago), that a lot of people decide to risk it - meaning purchase the pram from the US and hope they have no issues so that not having the warranty doesn't matter. Remember, it's not a lifetime warranty - I think it's only a year but I'm not sure. That being said, we purchased here in Australia because I didn't want to deal with hassles if anything went wrong but I did buy all my pram "accessories/attachments" from overseas and that has worked out fine - and saved a lot of money.
For some reason i am under the impression that there is no warranty when you purchase prams online. You can go directly through the company but i think it all comes at a cost to you. I could be wrong though.
Baby jogger australia won't fix prams bought in the us you do have to send it back os. It's s bummer cause they are so much cheaper!!
I got mine off ebay from oz with both seats, and the basinette for the price they sell the single a bit of a bargain I think!!
The only pram company with a worldwide warranty is bugaboo where they will honour the warranty on any bugaboo bought anywhere in the world except for the US models (apparently the US models are unique to the US due to some diff standards they had to modify their harnesses).
Any other pram and you are on your own with regards to warranty.....
yup you are on your own with the warranty - I have just purchased a baby jogger city select from america, and if there are any problems I can ship back to the seller and get replacements/repairs, but shipping costs are incurred by me. Risky I know, but I wanted this pram soooo badly I am just praying I dont have any problems. Have put it together and in and out of the car etc to get some practice, and wheeled it around the house, and so far so good lol. I am in love with it though, it is the only double pram I took a liking to. HTH
