I'm posting this on BB because my friends IRL would not really understand, ha ha.
Prior to having DD I had been off the pill for nearly 4 years and hadn't had a 'natural' period during that time. We ended up doing IVF to get DD so I had periods during that time but they were brought on with medication.
So I wasn't expecting to get my period back any time soon, if at all, after DD. Lo and behold in early Jan, 5 months after the birth - I got AF!!!! I was like -whoa, what the hell is this?!? Ha ha ha.
So I am trying not to get too excited, but there is a chance this could mean my body is sorting itself out, and maybe we won't have to go through IVF again to get a 2nd bub. Obviously a while off yet, but it would be so great if I got regular cycles and was ovulating!!
Mrs P - I am in the same boat. Did not get my periods prior to DD due to PCOS. Since January of last year (10 months after DD's birth) I have had a 30 day cycle - EVERY MONTH!!!!
I too am wondering if this means that I may be able to get pregnant naturally next time.
I understand! AF never came back for me in 17 months of breastfeeding, when I weaned DS in order to TTC. I was amazed and elated when AF returned only 5 weeks later. Never been so happy to see her in my life. I hope this means you can TTC naturally when the time comes.
