Post Jean M Auel - The Painted Caves

Is anyone else a fan of the Earth's Children's series of books?

Did you know the next one is due for release in March? Anyone else is as excited as I am??? LOL

You can download a sneak peak of the first 3 chapters. Already read them and an now re-reading 'Shelters of Stone' to get me in the mood!

you mean there's more might have to put that on my getting longer list of books to read - and I'd be re-reading the whole series - I do that with every series that I own.re-read regularly when a new one comes out

29 March and I'm ordering my copy in advance! I saw it printed on the new release Clan of the Cave Bears at Borders.

I'm soooo excited. I remember when the Shelters of Stone came out in 2002, and when the Plains of Passage came out before that in 1990 I didn't sleep until I'd finished them LOL.

Mammoth Hunters was my favourite book.

Where can we get the first 3 chapters Nettie?

at you lot! Glad to know I'm not the only fan! I remember when the Plains of Passage came out - I was sooo excited (and still living at home with Mum & Dad) that I bought it instead of paying board that week Mum and Dad were fans too and forgave me!

You can find the chapters at the facebook page (if you're on fb) - just search for Jean M Auel in Australia and there's a link on the left side. You have to click a few times to get to the publisher's site where the pages are - but it's worth it!

FWIW Liz - I usually re-read the whole series too (did with most of the Harry Potters too) but not this time. With a 2 year old, I just don't have time! But I am re-reading the Shelters of Stone

Just found this gem on her site
A grandmother of 15, Auel says, "I'm still planning to write six books," but now she admits, "I am not 100% sure I can get it all in one more book."
so I wonder if it is the last.

    Great kick start Nettie!

So who thinks Ayla's son Durc is going to reappear in this book? I can't work out how he would get to the Caves but after 4 books of her visions of a confrontation between two of her children I wonder whether it will happen. I believe this is the last book too.
