I'm going to say that I think it's safe. This is based entirely on the fact that nipple stimulation did zilch to bring on labour when I wanted it to.
I'm a tad embarrassed posting thisBut I'll ask anyway. It may be a bit tmi for some, but it is more relevant here than in the AO section.
Anyway. Is nipple stimulation during pregnancy okay? I'm 20w6d, and when DF and I get intimate, he loves to play with and suck on my nipples. I'm leaking a fair bit of colostrum now, and when I squeeze my nipples I can get about a 10 cent piece out before it trickles away. Is it safe for DF to be sucking on my nipples, or will it induce an early labourTIA ladies, it's been worrying me so I haven't been letting DF do it as much lately, much to his dismay, he loves all the changes in my body

i cant see why... there are mothers that continue to BF while PG?
I think it's only when your body is ready - or near ready - for labour, isn't it? Someone correct me if I'm wrongIt's why I've been trying to keep my own hands away from my boobs since that scare last week
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks![]()
Depends how long your session is really. If you do it for hours on end, then yes probably a risk there.
But if its like most foreplay that lasts for about half an hour, you should be right.. ROFL!!!!
I think it is safe unless you are high risk for pre-term labour.
And even then it takes a lot to stimulate contractions...a lot more than just a little playing around IYKWIM.
The question is really whether IF something happens are you going to ve able to not attribute guilt to it?
Natural labour simulators will only work if baby is ready.
Nipple stimulation @ 37, 38 weeks, nothing.
Nipple stimulation at 39w4d, prelabour contractions and baby born 18 hours later.
No it doesn't bring it on, but it is always safer to not if you feel like you will feel guilty of something happens.
Yes, I think it's safe.
I have been BF DD all pregnancy and no problems there, haven't heard of BF when pregnant not being recommended either, except in cases where there is threatened miscarriage. I think the nipple stimulation is meant to help induce labour because it helps release oxytocin. But so do lots of things, anything that makes you feel good! And it would only work if your body was ready to go into labour anyway. Did nothing for me when trying to get DD out anyway!
I can not keep my DH away from my nipples, pregnant or not!
Nipple stimulation has done nothing for me in regards to trying to bring this baby out, so I would say you're more than safe. I personally think you'd be more at risk of having overly sensitive nipples before anything happens to bring the bub on.
Yup your fine. I did it for hours at the end of did nothing.... i was worried about DTD as after i would get horrible BH so we stopped when i was 32 weeks because he thought he would set off labour.. *roll eyes* lol
Yeah I don't think it's an issue either... unless like already said, high risk pre-term labour ... they do say if you are already in labour and it's slowling then some nipple stimulation can be just the key to ramp it back up again... so there are truths in it but I don't think it "brings it on". I know they do suggest not to do certain things until after about wk 34/35 and I think it's more a precaution than anything. I love how your DH loves the changes though, that's gorgeous ... yay DH!
Woo hoo! I think I'll be putting in an order for some nipple stimulation tonight then!
