Quick! Making bread rolls & dough rising fast!

    Heya All

I am making bread rolls for my b.day dinner tonight. I started about 30 mins ago cause when I attempted bread the other day (using different recipe) the dough rose really slowly. The recipe thatI am using now, is rising real quick and my dinner is still a few hours away!!

What should I do??? After the dough rises, have to punch, kneed and separate to individual portions, rise then bake. I want FRESH made rolls at dinner - could I briefly bake now and then finish later or will this screw with the process?

    TIA!!

could you cook them now and just heat them breifly before serving?
My bread only takes half an hour to rise as well

And they would be like freshly made if I quickly heat them? Just in the oven on a low temp?

Would love to cook them cause I want to turn my air con on!! Its hot in my house they could probably cook on my bench!

Thanks for the advice Party-of-five, worked a treat!!

But... my rolls turned out to be more like scones than bread rolls!! What could have I done wrong? The dough was quite dense, even when I was making it and they were fluffy or light. My mum suggests to put more salt? The recipe only and 1/2 teaspoon..

Yes, I did work the dough for a couple of minutes after the first rise, cut in the portions, worked in to a roll shape, put in tray and let them rise a bit more before putting them in the oven..
