    That is so sad

Seven years is a long time - you must have been very attached after that long. Guinea pigs are such lovely pets!

Oh hunni, I'm so sorry your beautiful furry friend passed away. It's so sad when our loved pets die, they are such a big part of our family. Big hugs

    Oh Im sorry hun xx

We have 2 4 month old guinea pigs, I plan to bring them inside in the extreme heat or cold, I bought an indoor cage to use, but Im sure there will be times I forget or dont realise and leave them out there, it is a worry of mine that they will roast one day

I know I'm rather late finding this thread but I constantly worry about the weather extremes and our 5 piggies.... Some of whom may well be pregnant too. (just after we got them - from 3 different breeders - we discovered one if the girls wasn't a girl...)

I breed bunnies, and find a piece of wet thick carpet in the bottom of the cage is the best way to stop heat stroke. Sometimes the ice bricks themselves can make them go into shock, so should be wrapped in a towel first. I also put ice cubes in the water dish (which is much better than those bottles that hang because they get really hot in summer and freeze in winter). I also dip old towels in water and drape them over the cage with the ends on either side dangling in full buckets of water so the water can wick up and over the towel. I also provide a piece of wet carpet for the dog, so I'm sure it will work for pigs too.
