What do you wear to a professional job interview?

I would personally wear a business skirt and skirt. Something sleek and tidy.
Probably a black or grey skirt and a white shirt, maybe a striped shirt but leave it pretty plain and simple. And a pair of heels, not too high but not too low.
And my hair always in a sleek low ponytail.

You could make it a little more fashinonable if you wanted but I found that is the best outfit. It shows you are serious, made an effort to wear something nice without looking like you are trying to be in a magazine iykwim.

I always wear a dark coloured lightly patterned suit - usually dark grey. I used to only ever wear a skirt suit for interviews, but now I think a trouser suit is fine too. I wear a light coloured plain shirt and shoes that aren't too open with a matching bag. I always make sure the shoes are freshly cleaned and nail varnish freshly painted. Make up is kept light and minimal and finger nails painted in a clear or light polish.

    Good luck!

As the others have said, depending on the company, the season and the type of role, I would always dress a bit more conservatively - a dark coloured skirt or pants suit with a collared shirt and jacket. However if it is hot/tropical then a short sleeved shirt with no jacket or a simple capped-sleeve dress is also suitable. Low heels with enclosed toes are preferable and some nice jewllery ie. a necklace and earrings. Keep makeup fresh and minimal and make sure your nails are nuetral coloured or at least the nailpolish isn't chipped.

The general rule is to dress to the company (so find out what they are like culture wise) and then make it slightly more conservative.

pretty much the same as swoop - dark coloured suit with a skirt rather than pants. if it's warm & there's a chance you'll take off the jacket, def wear a shirt/top with sleeves. i usually wear a shirt. sheer stockings. heels. littlwe bit of makeup & definitely neat nails.

i wear my hair out but that's because i almost always do anyway.

of course, some of that depends on the type of role or company you're interviewing with.

    Same as the other said.

The only thing I also do is get my hair blow dried professionally. I have long hair that always picks up a bit of frizz. I'm hopeless at doing it myself. So I always get a cheap blow wave before job interviews. I wash it myself and turn up with wet hair. It's amazing how different it looks but it also makes me feel really good which then makes me present myself in the best light.

It all depends on the job. I tend to also wear a red jacket or dress so I stand out in the interview panel's mind, plus it shows a bit of my personality while still being "corporate". Hair I tend to put in a ponytail as well, and wrap a bit of hair around the band. Neutral makeup, nails - enough to show you're making an effort but not a fashion plate. Clean shoes & handbag - nothing worse than scuffed shoes or grubby handbag.

Oh, and a big, confident smile. Good luck!!!!
