I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and didn't find out about them until I was 11 weeks so it was a bit of a surprise but definitely a good surprise.
Just the last few weeks I've been starting to feel more and more anxious about things going wrong and can't stop stressing out. For the 11 weeks I didn't know I was pregnant I ate so many of the wrong foods and even since I found out have slipped up quite a few times without even realising my mistake until it's too late. Now I'm so worried about the baby having listeria.
Are there many people who found out late they were pregnant and have felt like this?
Thanks for any advice
A huge congratulations firstly. I didn't know i was pregant with my first child until i was 10 weeks pregnant. I now have 3 healthy children and one on the way. I ate all the wrong foods, even deli meats soft cheeses and salami's. I even smoked back then which i haven't since i found out i was with my first. It is perfectly normal to feel all of these emotions hon, if anything didn't feel right you would know and instinct would kick in for you to go to the docs. I was always worried and was always at my doctor only to be told everything is fine. I am 17 weeks now with our 4th and im always worrying, i really am but i think a part of the reason we do is that incase something was to go wrong we were already thinking the worst. And almost all of us go on to have happy healthy babies like im sure you will hon. You will be holding your precious little bundle in no time. all the best.
hun when you are pregnant we all do silly things when we dont know we are preg. itms?
i did with my youngest ds, i was 3 months before i knew and i went to the easter show and went on rides your not meant to
you'll be fine some people drink, smoke etc and they have healthy children too, we have all done silly things when pregnant so try to relax a tad and concentrate on what you can do now and leave the past back there..
Congratulations Lauren!!!! I totally understand the anxiousness, and I don't think the worry ends here! Welcome to the journey that is motherhood!
As the others have said, most people have done something regarded as silly sometime during their pregnancy... concentrate on what you can do from now on!
You can do everything by the book, and still worry that they'll be ok. It means you care darlin, and that ain't not half bad
Ditto what the others have said!
I knew early on, and I was still anxious, but then I'm a born worrier!
In regards to the listeria, I'm pretty certain that you can tell if you've got it, I think its flu-like sypmtoms and it would be around the time that you ate the food that you'd feel sick. Hopefully someone with more of an idea comes on and helps you out.
