i think very light exercise is ok in the early days, but i could be wrong, im basing that on the fact they tell you to "work" on your pelvic floor from day 2 i think it was?

    six weeks.
give it time... you'll be amazed what some time will do. it's only been three weeks!! It took nine months to get that way

If you've had a c/s the general guideline is 6 wks. In saying that I started back on the exercise bike 4 wks after my last c/s .

I'm not sure if there are any real guidelines re vaginal birth (sorry, I don't know which you had) - but light exercise when you feel up to it should not be an issue.

Just listen to your body - don't forget the relaxin can stay in your system for up to 9 months after.

They do say 6 weeks, but if you feel physically fine (no pain from stitches etc) go for it I say. My bub is now 4 weeks and I have been walking and doing zumba. Just take it easy. I did hop on the treadmill at the gym and my legs were like jelly afterwards, so had to take a step back and slow down a little. Walking is good for you though and gets you out and about.
