Finger and toenails falling out

Hi, my 22 month old DS has been getting white lines on his finger and toenails near the cuticle and now they are lifting and starting to fall out.
I have done a quick google and it appears that it can be a result of hand foot and mouth which he had just before xmas
Has anyone else had this happen to their LO?
Did you do anything for it?

Could also be a mineral deficiency, I think zinc deficiency leaves white marks on the nails....perhaps take him to a naturopath or iridologist?

It could be, but he does eat really well, (I can hide many veges) and he eats most other things. I also give him pentavite.
