Silent reflux and mucousy/chesty/rattly sounding bub

Hi

My dd was diagnosed with silent reflux at 7 weeks (she's 3 months old now). That was about the time i stopped breastfeeding and started formula feeding.. I had attatchment issues so expressed full time the first 6 weeks. She is now on the lowest dose of Zantac (1.2ml twice a day) and it seems to be helping the crying/pain factor but she still sounds really chesty.

Most people who hold her comment on how mucousy she is. I've seen 2 drs about it but they say it's not a chest infection as it sounds clear when she breathes. It's almost like it's sitting in the back of her throat, but when she coughs (or even just breathing at times) its all rattly in her chest if that makes sense.

Do AR formulas help with this? Or should I go back to the dr and ask him to up the dose of Zantac? Or is it something else, like milk intolerance or something???

Hmmm not sure, my bub has silent reflux but doesn't have the rattle sounds.
Is the rattle accompanied by screaming?
Do you think it's the vomit that's coming up and sitting at the back of the throat? my dd vomits and swallows, you can hear it.
The Zantac will not stop her from having symptoms but will stop the overproduction of tummy acid that causes the pain, or so my paed told me.
go with your mummy instincts if you feel somethings not right get it checked out again. Maybe you should take her to another doctor.

Ds was the same, we had to up the dose of Zantac to stop the symptoms. He started to lose weight again until the dose was right.
