Century egg?
Oh dear...on Biggest Loser the eat-off challenge was to eat 2 whole Century Eggs!
*heave*
Seriously they just looked completely putrefacent. Has anyone eaten one of these and can you tell me what the attraction is??
What are they?
Nope and nope can't tell you the attraction either!! pmsl
Thanks for the forewarning, will remember not to be eating dinner during TBL tonight!!
OMG YUMMMMMMMMMM I love century old eggs with salty pork in CONGEE
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
It is a preserved duck egg, several months old.
Where's the "throw up" icon?
Regards,
Dianne
Yeah, except they are not exactly preserved, they're buried in clay and then left to fester, and then dug up and eaten.
Ok, i can imagine that a little bit mixed into a larger dish might work...what exactly does it taste like M21?
Gagging
I'll pass thanks.
LOL
i dotn think its made that way anymore but i am not sure
i buy them in a carton of 6 eggs.
Anyway, they taste a like firm egg that is slightly salty. THe outter layer is slightly transparent. If you dare, you can probably order CONGEE with century egg and salted pork from your yum cha restaurants.
Very good for if you arent feeling too well and want something light lol
EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW they're green! and redish jelly! GROSS!
Ok, the ones on the telly sound well different from the ones you just described...these were reddish-brownish and completely transparent all the way through the "white" and the yolk part was green, glistening and kinda liquid....
I can't imagine that being very good for me if I wasn't feeling well to start of with...Very good for if you arent feeling too well![]()
LOL probably cause its uncooked. Ill have a look! but yeh the ones we eat is also browny with greeny yolk
I felt sick watching them... how the hell can they be a delicacy??? *shudders*
