I did. But only at home. I always took a thermos of hot water when out to do DD's bottles. At home the bottle warmer was easier. When it was almost time for a feed, I popped the bottle in and hey presto, it was ready 5-10mins later.
Someone suggested to me the other day to get a bottle warmer. They swore by it, for use at home and whilst out.
But here is the thing... that person was the only one I know to say that.
So.. If you had one, did you really use it?
Thanks ; )

Nope never. I too took hot water out with me. Much easier I think.

I honestly don't know anyone personally that's used one!
I just put DDs bottles in a mug of boiling water. They were warm in no time. If I was out and didn't have access to a mug of water (like at the park), I'd just let her milk warm to room temperature in the bottle compartment of the nappy bag. Obviously this wouldn't work if your out for hours at a time so a thermos would be good.
Yep we use ours everyday..
I may have the wrong person however if you are the one who was thinking of expressing full time then yes they do come in handy as EBM has to be bathed in hot water to heat, you are not able to microwave as this extracts the nutrients from the milk. I expressed full time for DD1 and I used mine often but only at home, when I was out and about I would use boiled water.
I was lucky enough to pick my avent one up for $6 at a garage sale too![]()
I thought about getting one but never did and we just heat the EBM in a container of boiled water. It takes only a few minutes - easy and free.
Nope. I just used the *SHock Horror* Microwave at home! I do have one of the cheap ones that plugs into the lighter of the car for when travelling. If I was going out I would just fill the bottle with hot water and put in the insulated part of nappy bag and then by the time it was needed it was the correct temp and I would just add the formula while out, easy really!
I used my Avent bottle warmer religiously when at home, and would bathe bottles in a jug of hot water when at other people's houses - microwaves were my absolute last resort with DD1. Everyone else I knew just used microwaves lol, by the time DD2 weaned herself and started on formula I just cbs buying another one and would instead prepare bottles by heating bottles of cooled boiled water in the microwave, then adding formula after warming so as not to stuff with the nutrients, itms?
I personally found the bottle warmer to be one of the best gifts I was given (mum scored it for me from a friend of hers so it was second-hand), but by the same token it was just as easy to use the microwave and water method that I used with DD2, so it's up to you![]()
Thanks so much ladies. Thinking about doing room temp bottles... Great idea with thermos too btw. ' )
Livinthedream, I think it alters the nutrients somehow because it uses electromagnetic radiation to heat the food. Also if you use plastic bottles it makes it realease some sort of other chemicals into the milk too (I have heard!). But I could be wrong....??

If you are FF or EBM then i would say well worth it, we had them at work in the UK as we were not allowed to use the microwave. here at work we just use a jug of boiling water (which i dont consider safe with other babies and children around, so if you have older children)
