Hi everyone,
I'm after a beleheim/tri colour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy for our male Cav company. He is lonely since his best friend died a few months ago.
I'm going to search Trading post and breeder sites etc but I would prefer to use one that someone has brought from so I know they are good breeders.
Hey!
I know of a GREAT breeder in the northern suburbs of Melbourne....
Not sure if that is to far?
Pm me for her name.
Otherwise try the canine council (Vic or NSW) websites for CC registered breeders
I used to know a cav breeder in South Morang I think (Vic), but I've lost contact with them (my Dad is still friends with them as far as I know, but I've lost contact with him too!). Their names were Irene and Randall (I think, sorry, memory is lacking atm). That's all I can remember about them, I'm sorry.
Never mind all that. I just emailed my Dad and I'll let you know if he gets back to me with something.
I adore CKCS's. They have such gorgeous demeanors and are fantastic with kids. Before having my kidlets I was a surgical vet nurse, and whenever smeone asked me what breed of dog would be good with their kids my first answer was always a CKCS
We almost got one too! We'd even found a breeder that was great, until we decided that our current dog probably wouldn't want a friend, lol. You probably already know about the chances of heart issues in the breed, so my biggest tip for finding a good breeder would be to make sure you ask them about their breeding criteria. Make sure that they are actively trying to reduce heart problems in the breed, and also make sure that they are a breeder that focuses on breeding dogs for good temperament and health, rather than just to get dogs that strictly meet the breed standard to make good show dogs. The breeder we found seemed to do all the right things, so if you would like their details feel free to pm me
