    baby due August.... Clothes help

    hi ladies

our second baby is due in August , second week... And I was wondering how long your little ones stayed in winter clothes ?

I will obviously dress them in baby jumpsuits and such until they are a few weeks old but DS was born in November and by December he as in singlets and singlet jumpsuits as it was so hot....

we will be finding out the sex so we aren't exactly shopping yet but I can't remember, how long DS was comfortable in the suits before he wore normal clothes IYKWIM?

    any help would be great,

I have not used clothes much until about 3 or 4 months as I loved the look of jumpsuits and wanted a baby baby stage to last as long as possible!!

    Sorry if no help

I would say you'll still have quiet a few months of cold weather if last year was anything to go by, took forever to warm up!

Feeb - I was like you. I love the 'baby' baby look

My daughter was born in July and was comfortable in bodysuits and a blanket I think until late October, early November.

Well I have been through alot of the clothes i have already accumulated... and have plenty to work with

I need to buy the wondersuits though in Newborn ( Ds was 0000 at birth) how many do you think i should have altogether? I remember changing DS quite alot because of milk messes or nappy changes ... in the beginning.

Also how many of each size do you have? or had?

I remember how quickly they grow but what would be a good number, i hate needing to go shopping when suddenly they go up a size

Also did your bub wear hats in winter?
Do they need to wear two layers also? I think we did this for a few cold nights etc....

I had a 2nd to 3rd week of August baby (17th) and she was in winter clothes for several months. She definitely needed 2 layers too.

To start with i would get 4 to 6 x 0000 suits and 4 to 6 x 000 suits. You can always go and buy some more if need be

Summer was born in October & didn't have to wear too much through the days, but nights were still pretty cold.
I'd plan on it being about as cold as it is now, since it'll be the other side of winter (& I dunno about you, but I'm bloody freezing on our sunny coast!!)
I'd get the 4 - 6 0000's, but more 000's. Bubs will be in the tripples longer. Summer didn't move up to 00's til she was between 6 & 7 months, so even a big baby would be in the 000's for 3 or 4 months I'm thinking

We had 8 Wondersuits for DD in 0000. She was born 5 Sept and was a tiny 2962g and wearing 00000 and some premmie clothes in other brands. They lasted her quite a while and I found 8 perfect as we often changed her 3-4 times a day (I do washing every second day). They were 'well loved' I bought around 8 again in 000. We are in WA so she was in lighter clothes during the day by mid November but still wearing the suits at night.

    HTH!

I've been doing some similar planning with an October baby due and from what I've been hearing the Bonds Wondersuits in size 000 are great for NB as they are sort of fit a bit small, sort of in between sizes 000 and 0000. I'll probably get four or so of those and then maybe another three suits in another brand in 0000 (will look for these second hand at the Bubs market as I'd imagine most will only have very light wear in this size).

    Good luck...
