    RIP to a beautiful lady

My mum's aunty passed away last night at the gorgeous grand age of 92 after a short battle with cancer.

She was the last sibling of my grandfather to walk on this planet. But she overcame her own obstacles to be here - she was baptised at birth because the doctors believed she wouldn't live. She went on to have a long life, four daughters, countless grandchildren and great grandchildren and celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary.

She was bright and had the most wonderful (and rude!) sense of humour. Watching her and mum's uncle banter, mostly of a sexual nature, was just hilarious and sweet. Seeing a couple in their 90's teasing each other like teenagers (and a little for the shock effect it would have on the people in the room at the time!).

Aunty P, I love you. You are a graceful, elegant lady who always had a laugh and saw the goodness in everything. If I can learn to appreciate every single thing, I'd only be the half of what you were. Say hi to Pa for us all and we'll take care of Uncle M for you.

Thank you to everyone. I feel like we've had a rough trot with losing people. Started in 07 with my pop, 08 was my best friend, 09 was my miscarriage, 10 was my nan and our family dog, and 11 has brought this too. Time for a break now, please.

Thank you for writing about your great-aunty, I feel as if we got to see a little part of how amazing she was through you sharing your memories. You must miss her such a lot - sending you hugs and hoping that this year is a better one than the previous few
