Why I should get up when I hear things during the night...

The other night I was yet again attempting to sleep through (DD is sleeping through most of the time but I keep waking up!) when I heard my 2 cats playing with something in the living room. I figured it was a hair tie or something so tried to ignore it and went back to sleep. DH is away for work at the moment.

A little later I heard them in my bedroom doing the same thing. Again, tried to ignore and go back to sleep. Then after a little while I twitch as 'something' was on my shoulder... then I feel something move over my other shoulder, and as I brushed my hand against it I felt something.... CRUNCHY!!

I leapt out of bed, while simultaneously whacking my shoulder and trying to turn on the light - look at the bed and there's a 2 inch long ****roach!! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

So I killed it with DH's shoe But was not able to relax in bed after that - it was 5.20am - so ended up on the couch for another hour until DD woke up! Then later that day I took much pleasure in changing the sheets on my bed!!

    Hee hee, gotta love cats.

My mum's cat caught a mouse one night, jumped onto her bed, trotted up her body and dropped it on her chest - still alive.

Needless to say, mother dear was NOT impressed

    Hehehe!

No roaches here but we literally get what I call "rain of baby spiders" here in warm weather...in the lounge and bedroom, they all hatch at once and rain on you from the ceilings.

We heard a weird noise in DDs room the other night and it turned out to be the cat howling on top of DD's wardrobe (obviously got herself stuck up there) and poor DD was sitting up in bed saying "Hello..? Hellooo...?" becuase she thought there was someone in her room, poor baby!

    :-P

The last actual creature the cat bought me was a LIVE cricket which she *very* carefully carried through the house to show me - while it was still alive - and when I said "thank you but you can let it go", she ate it alive.

But usually we get brought slippers and drinking straws. Poor mite is rather dim. :-P
