BJ City Select & attaching the Safe n Sound Unity

    OK some HELP PLEASEEEEEEEEe!!!!!!!

I have the BJCS and have had it for a while for my bubba who is now 1, I have another bub in approx 3 weeks so am getting everything out to get ready.

I have the Safe and Sound unity (been in box since I got it) as it is listed as 1 of the 2 car seats that attach to the BJCS along with the Peg P.......

So I get the Car seat adapters out and the instruction booklet and try to follow the instructions to attache the unity to the BJCS. This is the set that came from America with my stroller.

I have to match the SnS Unity to either the Britax Chaperone or Britax Companion which I do by the pictures.

But no matter what DH or I do we cannot get the adapters to fit up the inside of the car seat and click in?

Ok so have I got the wrong adapters, maybe so I order another set from an AUssie site that states they go with the SnS Unity.

Get those delivered today, get all excited that it was the wrong ones last time and these will just be so easy and the car seat will just clip on.

Open package, assess adapters......NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they are exactly the same, I had the correct ones in the first place.

So im hoping someone out there has this and can help with the following?

    1) What Britax seat does the Unity match the Britax Chaperone or Britax Companion ?

    2) does the unity just rest on the silver bar around the back of the seat that goes into the side adapters or is it supposed to click right down so the little arc bits with L and R on are up under the sides?

    3) did you struggle????????

Will try calling BJ directly for some guidance but anyone out there using it already pleas can you let me know?

    THANKS

hey there, we had the exact same issues. We have the unity capsule and the city elite. The capsule just rests on the silver bars and then the clips that are on them clip over the capsule. It's not the best or safest looking thing.

basically, yes. I went and checked this out at Baby Bunting and it was exactly like this.

Baby Jogger have really good customer service so they should be able to help you.

Same here - had to go back to Baby Bunting and have them show me. The capsule does not fit into the plastic "U" shaped sides - it attaches via 2 metal bars. The first being the U-shaped bar the fits into the adapter (that's what I call the thing that snaps into the side of the pram under where the hood snaps in). Once you have the u-shaped bar firmly snapped in, then you "rest" the SNS Unity on the bar - it doesn't really snap in either but when you add the 2nd metal bar (the one with the velcro strip), you get a pretty secure fit. The last thing you do, after you have your baby in the SNS capsule is lock the safety strap which is the nylon strap with the clippy buckle thing which goes around the top of the capsule - basically above the baby's legs. It's not a pretty system, but we use it all the time and it works - we do check it often though.

i have had the same problem tonight! the s n s capsule just rests on the silver bar, then you clip the strap over the capsule. whereas the peg p or maxi cosi capsules seem to clip in and you dont use the bar. apparently the pram is best fitted for maxi cosi capsules. wish i knew that beforehand! it is supposed to be perfectly safe, but it does seem a little unstable to me.....will see how it is when there is a bubba in it i suppose

Finally got around to trying properly on the weekend and with it resting on the bar, the 2nd bar in place and the strap over it us quite sturdy but i must say I wish i had known this prior to buying as I'm soooooo particular and hate the fact it doesn't snap in like the Maxi cosi, which I would have brought instead!!

Still considering selling my sns unity and getting a maxi cosi or peg, I'm just so close to birth next week to be e baying right now!!!

I did it!!!!! I found the maxi cosi mico on offer and ordered today!!!! Yay it will clip on only using the side brackets and no messing around.

Now just to wait till that gets here then I'll sell my new safe and sound, wish I could do it now but can't risk it as I think bugs is coming soon!! Maybe before the maxi cosi gets here.
