    My embarrassing *tmi* surgery

So I wasnt going to share this but I figure when Im feeling sore and sorry for myself it will be you guys I turn to for comfort

I have to go to hospital on wednesday for the removal of a pilonadil sinus on my butt crack

I finally worked up the courage 2 weeks ago to go to the gp about a boil that has bothered me for years expecting a course of ABs not a referal to a surgeon. I saw the surgeon on friday, he explained fully my embarrassing problem and booked me in for wednesday. I have to stay in the night and it takes about 2 weeks to heal because of the position and is quiet painful

to explain the "area" better...it the bit thats revealed if your pants are a bit low and you been over

I refuse to take codine as it makes me constipated and I dont want to be dealing with that as well so Ill just have panadol and nurafen as my best friends for the next week.

I just feel embarrassed that I have to go to hospital for this

Hugs not nice for you, don't be embarrassed it's more common that you think.

Good luck I hope you recover quickly, you could take codeine drugs and take a stool softner as well so you get on top of pain quickly and effectivly.

my DP has this problem, it is re occuring as he refuses to have the surgery, he has them drained at times, most times as soon as he feels it swelling, he gets a script for ABs filled.

One thing he has been doing for awhile (since the last drainage, over xmas, about 3 years ago now, had to have it packed and re packed every day :/ until it healed, wasnt nice AT ALL!)
Is to wipe his bum with dettol after every BM. (and up the crack) he hasnt had it swell up since.

are they doing the whole skin graft thing?

My brother had it also, he had to leave his wound open and have it packed, lucky SIL is a nurse and did the packing and repacking for him, save him some embarssment.

BTDT with the bum op, maximum embarrassment . I hope it's a smooth recovery for you, take it easy. I can't take codeine but there are plenty of other painkillers available so if you're in pain ask for other meds, no point being in pain if you don't need to.
