    Constant illness

Since DD was born 20 months ago, I have had constant fatigue (I had hoped it was just new baby tired but she mostly sleeps through the night now!) and I seem to catch every bug floating around...
Colds, flu, viral infections and then they usually turn bacterial and I get even sicker.
I am so over being sick all the time.
My kids miss their active mum and I miss being that. DH misses having a fun and bright wife and the sex life has taken a major hit!
I'm trying to lose weight but being sick all the time really impedes that.
We eat very healthily - loads of veg, salads, fruit and lean meats.
I take a multi vit and magnesium to help with the headaches and ease the muscles in my neck...

I don't know what else to do?
The dr doesn't seem to be taking me seriously and just seems to wave me off...

    Suggestions???

Thanks so much in advance from one very tired, overdone mum :-(

Welcome to my horrible world!!! I was the exact same when dd was around 10 months. Gastro 3 times in 2 months, the flu. You name it I got it!

Start taking a good multi v. After I did that things seemed to pick up again. When u are sick rest as much as possible, although difficult with kids. Eat regularly, breakfast morning tea lunch arvo tea and dinner. Small good meals often.

Its terrible to always feel sick! I hope things look up soon.

If you can, get to a naturopath (a good one, ask friends etc for recommendations), they will look at your body holistically, look at what your body is lacking, if there is anything not quite right that is causing all of this.

Hugs BS I have felt much the same way since ds was born. I have since discovered I have coeliac disease (gluten intolerance) maybe something to check on? You can have a blood test as an initial screening test. I had no real "bowwel" symptoms either so it wasn't obvious but got picked up in my miscarriage tests.

I've had some tests - the camera down the throat and the camera up the wrong end and it was discovered that I don't have a gluten problem but have had ulcers..

I just seem to be getting more run down. I've been sick solidly for 3 weeks now - sinus infection, sore throat, cough, body aches, stiff and sore joints, constant headache...

That sucks sweets!! I would definitely go see a naturopath!! They can find out if anything is out in your body.

Have you considered chiro too?? If there is any bones out in your spine it could manifest in things like a low immune system etc! My chiro is awesome and I have been feeling heaps better (I was very much like you!) since seeing her regularily

Good luck and try to get as much rest as you can being a mummy.

I would second going to see a chiro, if your spine's not in place your nervous system can't function correctly and this can effect your immunity.

Acupuncture and some Chinese herbal medicine could also help.

I would never have considered a chiro but it makes sense...
I know my spine and neck are out as I have (massive) big boobs that have always caused back issues..

Trish - it sucks huh? Big hugs..

Acupuncture? I'm not good with needles - does it hurt??

Nope!! Although induction AP does when they get the right spot! Lol.
The needles are so fine you can't feel them and if you can, they haven't done it propely!

I get major anxiety when it comes to needles!
I *might* look into it - if I can stop hyperventilating for 5mins!

I have the big boobage issue here too, I'd definitely give a chiro a try.

As for the acupuncture, it doesn't feel like you have needles poking in you, they really are so fine that you don't know they're there.

Actually, just to back up chiro further (no pun intended!) DD was sick everywhere last night and I wasn't going to take her to her session this morning, but the chiro said to bring her in because she could work on her immune system then.
