What did you do for your baby shower? a pink or blue theme ( if you knew) or something different and unique?
Did you plan it yourself? I had a baby shower with DS and considering my family are far away at the moment , i was thinking of setting a date to visit for later on, because I know My mum and Nanna are dying to do it all again... however I thought maybe we'd do something al ittle different, like maybe a cruise/lunch or a special day oout (Sydney )
I wanted a pink theme but i didnt end up with much of a theme. I was very slack and towards the end my SIL helped me with it. Because it was winter and a miserable day we just stayed inside and played games. It turned out to be a lot more fun than i first thought.
But the cruise idea sounds lovely. Have you tried googling baby shower themes and seeing what ones they have?
High tea would be ace! Are you wanting themes, as in if you decide to stay in and do something or ideas for where to go? If you are going out I know in Melbourne there is soemthign along the lines of a chocolate tour through the city - Sydney probably do something similar!? At the end of the day it is a celebration for you and your new bubby with girls you love! You could also do a pamper day where you go to a day spa and all have pedicures or massages or something? Many cater for that sort of thing and may even include lunch etc.
a high tea, chocolate tour or the pamper party sound fantastic in my book! I didn't have a baby shower but I think I will next bub so I'd love some good ideas for that too. I think what you do would really depend on how you are feeling and how pregnant you will be when you have it. I know I was really sore at different times so it can be hard to tell but I do that by 34 weeks I was only good for about 1 hour out and about walking so something which is relatively non active would be important for me... Sorry I don't have any more ideas for you!
My Aunty just did a High tea in the city (Sydney). It was just a ladies day out, no occasion. She said it was fantastic. Just to get dressed up really nice. If you want a theme to the day you could say that they have to dress with according colours to what you are having.
I've been to a few baby showers lately but not as a guest.
I work as a body shop consultant and have done quite a few baby shower parties where the range of baby items are displayed and mum to be has the chance of getting some of the range for free and gets gifts from bodyshop (that's how I do it anyway not all consultants do)
Then mum to be and any guests can get pampering from some of the other products.
It's actually been really fun and it's different and cheaper than a day spa whilst still getting pampered!
That's all I can really suggest I never had a theme to mine and not having one this time around
