    What next??

I have lodged an official complaint to my HR department at work over our restaurant manager (RM). They have advised that my letter will go to our F&B director to discuss and go from thier. My complaint was to do with the way in which I was spoken to by RM and his unprofessional attitude towards casual staff (says he has no respect for us, we have no rights etc)

This was done yesterday. What can I expect now and if I am not happy still what can I do? Unfortunately I love the team I work with and the company and I don't want to leave the team in a worse off spot and continued to be harassed by him.

If you are unhappy with the way that the company responds to your complaint (and if you feel that you get treated unfairly because you have complained) then you can lodge a formal complaint with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC)

Thanks. I'm currently sitting and stressing over what I have done and where to now. I think partially cause I have never done this before. Just wish I knew what was going on at work.

No idea, but just wanted to say good on you for standing up and doing something! So many people, including myself, would not be brave enough to do that

Thanks. It needed to be done. We (meaning staff) have been yelled at by him in front of guests, he calls out 'madam' to all of us (even after saying we don't own a brothel), rude to guests, disappears when things need doing, turns up to work and goes has lunch, discloses personal information and generally a**hole

I have found out my letter is now sitting on the GM desk. Wonder what's going to happen today

Did you talk to the other staff before you wrote the letter? If they ask you in to a meeting, take a witness with you.

Oh yeah. It's a mutual feeling among all staff. No one likes him. I'm just the one who's not afraid of losing their job as hubby works. Plus I know I can work anywhere due to my level of experience.

I stated in the letter that although it's come from me and is regarding incidents about me that all staff feel the same and that he could call any of them for their opinion.

Still haven't heard anything but am on tonight so I'll wait and see. I have been told that the gm is taking both my letter and what another staff member (full time restaurant supervisor) have said to him.

Got to work last night to be told by RM 'I have a meeting with GM, I'll be half hour, I don't want to be disturbed'. I was then told by the bar supervisor that he hadn't been told about the letter yet and was about to be told that's what the meetings for. An hour later he appears and didn't say much. So who knows what's going to happen

Now. Lol. Just arrived. We have a suspicion that he thinks the bar supervisor said something. But then again who knows

Well doesn't look like the chat did anything.

I'd keep complaining, and if you can, get other staff to do so with you

When he had the chat with gm there was apparently 4 complaints put to him plus he had talks with other members of staff within the business. It's just frustrating.

Keep a diary of his behaviour over the next few weeks and ask for formal feedback from HR on the outcomes from your letter.
