Ok, so not too sure whether I should put this in another thread or not....
Its a simple question, whats the go with chocolate and AF?
I mean I was doing so well, chocolate was virtually out of my life, my diet and exercise were winning. Then today, af arrives and she brings with it, this amazingly strong craving for chocolate.
For me the craving kicks in several days before AF blows in. Apparently women have a slightly higher need for calories around this time, so it's common to crave extra carbs and/or fat or CHOCOLATE which is the perfect combination of both. Sorry, not very scientific explanation...
I always crave chocolate the day or 2 before AF - that's usually what triggers me thinking "oh yeah, here it comes". No idea why but the need for extra calories makes sense as I always get extra tired around that time so extra energy is defintiely required!

CALORIES: 53 EACH
MAKES: 24 truffles. PREP TIME: 30 minutes (plus 30 minutes chilling time). COOKING TIME: 5 minutes.
INGREDIENTS: 200g good-quality dark chocolate, six tablespoons strong, black coffee (such as espresso), two tablespoons clear honey, cocoa powder, to dust
METHOD: Melt chocolate gently in a large bowl over a pan of simmering water. Remove and set aside. It should look like a liquid pool of chocolate. Gently pour in coffee and stir until it thickens. The chocolate will start to “seize” and thicken almost instantly.
Add honey, a tablespoon at a time, slowly until you get a glossy mixture. Chill in fridge for 30 minutes or until the mixture has returned to a nearly solid form. Sieve three tablespoons cocoa onto a clean surface.
Scrape out a teaspoonful of the mixture into your hand and roll into a marble-sized ball (quickly so it doesn't melt in your hands!), then roll through the cocoa powder until fully coated and pop into a bowl or jar. Put the jar in the fridge, and you've got a indulgence that is not so naughty
