Is there something wrong with me?? So we already have a DS3 and lost our angel baby at approx 17w U/S showed bubs at only 10w or so. My EDD was the 15th of May 2011 so we are coming up to my due date, why do I still feel like something is missing? Should I be "over it already". On wednesday I took of my neckerlace for a family photo and I thought I lost it I was in tears fretting over it on it I have a charm my Dh brought me when we first got together and a charm for our angel baby. I dont know what to do... My sis also had a M/C about 3 weeks prior to me but she was only about 4 weeks preggers she is over it but i cant forget it every month I pray that Im preg again but every onth Af arrives, I dint feel right brininging this up with my husband because 1 If he has got over it I dont want to upset him and 2 if he isnt I want to be strong for him. I dont know what to do.....
No one can tell you if or when you should be over it. Personally I don't think you ever really would get over it ( I have never experienced a loss but as a mother, I don't think its something you ever get over).
You should talk to your DH about it. He will understand if you are still hurting & he has been able to move on. Moving on is ok. Its not forgetting or not caring about the child you lost anymore. Its simply being able to carry on with your chin up. But always having a sore spot in your heart.
Please don't feel like you need to be strong for anyone. You need to talk & by being "strong" it wont allow you to really deal with the emotions you have still to deal with before you are able to move on.
My sister had a late m/c similar timing to yours. She was due on the 5th of May 2005. Your EDD made me think of the poem I wrote for her. I sent it to her on her EDD.
Today is a special day,
Its ok to shed a tear.
There is a place in your heart for me,
I know you hold so dear.
Why did I have to leave?
Before this day had come.
They tell me that you're special,
You're my special mum.
I wish I got to look at you,
Gaze into those loving eyes.
I feel the love you have for me,
Love that strong never dies.
I come and visit often,
You know that I am here.
I get to feel your warmth,
When you hold my brother near.
I hope he gets to know me,
I love to run and play.
He will tell you stories about me,
And ask why I couldn't stay.
They talk about you fondly,
All the angels up here.
They say I'm really lucky,
That its you who holds me near.
Today is a special day,
I love you, my mother dear.
Hold on to my big brother tightly,
So I can hold you near.
Im sorry for your loss & I wish I was able to offer you more answers. But know there is nothing wrong with you. You have a sore spot in your heart & sadly it will always be there.
Nothing is wrong with you.. there is no certain time to "be over it"... you will often find yourself thinking about your angel bub. Especially coming up to due dates, and next year on anniversaries, and probably christmas and any other spcial time where you realise bub is not there.
As for comparing yourself to your sister, dont stress, different people cope differently. And also you had 17 weeks of thinking you were bringing a bubba home, she only had three weeks, and there is a big difference there.
Losing a baby is not easy and it stays with you forever, please dont pressure yourself to be "ok" before you really are. And even then, it ok to be sad every now and then forever!!!!!
