Very worried. 20weeks, extremely soft cervix and leaking
TMI warning ahead.
I have been very wet all day, showing really well on my undies, different smell and texture to normal. That is what got me worrying.
The last few days, I have had this irrational urge to check my cervix so after all of that earlier, I decided to check. Stupid I know because if it is my waters, I'm just setting myself up for infection. Anyways, getting to the more gross part, it was soft, like mash potato soft, plus I could feel into the opening... which should be closed and the cervix should be firm.
I thought that checking my cervix would put me at rest for the night and I'd just feel like a twit for a bit but instead I feel like a complete dumba** because it wasn't what I expected and that means if there is a leak, I could have put my bub into even more danger.
I will be calling the hospital as soon as I get up in the morning, I can't go now because I have noone to come over and look after my boy and he is fast asleep.
Has anyone had anything like this before and what has been the outcome?
Hun i really have no advice, but hope its all a false alarm,
i used to get a lot of fluid and discharge while pregnant with dd as well and they said its normal..
Could you have an infection?
If the water smells its not likely to be your waters as from what i was told they arent meant to have a smell.. Could be wrong
Could you just ring them anyway and see what they say?
Hope you're ok this morning. When my waters broke, it smelled like semen but sweeter. I would take yourself into hossy and get checked out just in case, it's better to be safe than sorry.
i know you have no one to watch your son, but i would be still calling the hospital, or even going right there to get checked out. hope you are okay this morning, that seems a bit scary but the sooner you get to the hospital, the sooner you can calm your own nerves, and also see what's going on. all the best xxx
The leaking stopped for a bit over the night, started again this morning but went by this arvo. I'm not checking my cervix again as I shouldn't have the first time. My OB says everything is ok and likely just a small hole in the sac that has repaired itself. I should never google, it makes you worry more lol. Thank you for all your support
