Non-permanent ways of Decorating a baby's room? (Rental house)

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on simple ways to pretty up a pretty plain baby's room that doesn't involve wholescale permanent changes that I'm not allowed to do in a rental house?

I've thought about putting some nice pretty fabric up over the lace curtains (kind of like a drape) and putting decals and pictures on the furniture in the room which will be ours, plus maybe a colourful rug on the floor or something - any other ideas?

    TIA

you can put up art canvas using the commando (looks likes velcro) stuff that can be removed

theres removable stickers, nice drawers, curtains

I even put one of those nice lights held by the commando sticker things on the wall.

I got some beautiful removable wall decals from giggle smiles designs website. They are great, it's the only way I decorate my kids rooms walls.

You can get pictures with nice prints in them and use Command Adhesive Hooks to hang them up.

You could even wrap a plain canvas in the same material as the curtains you are planning on and hang the canvas up using the command strips.

In my lease agreement it says that I am not allowed to put anything on the walls (3M hooks, bluetac included). So I put removable sitckers on the window, and covered the changemat in a fabric that matched her quilt. I also have fabric baskets on the shelf of her changetable. Rugs on the floor, i painted her set of draws and put stickers on that as well. I also have a hairclip hanger hanging from the knob on her wardrobe. We got a rocking chair from ebay and put a pillow on that in the same fabric. HTH

There are some lovely removable wall decals at deals direct dot com. You could use nice bedding, a beanbag/kids couch, hanging art or craft even....lots of stuff!

    Thanks ladies

Pretty sure my lease also says nothing on the walls even though in some spots in the house they're already marked from previous occupants (covered in the condition report) so I don't really want to take the risk with wall type stuff.

Love the idea of cushions on the chair - I have a wicker chair with footrest that will be in there as my feeding chair, needs a new sheepskin but then adding a bright cushion would work quite well.

if you have curtains up already you could swap them over for some baby colours (i did this in our last place that we rented with DD1). also the wall stickers are amazing. they leave NO marks and dont pull any paint off. i have used ours now in three different places

and yeah, floor rugs and the furniture and some nice bookshelves to put books, toys etc on and a nice lampshade are a really nice way to brighten up a room.

wit the wall stickers, if you buy decent ones they wont leave a mark on the wall. my lease also said nothing on walls but i clean the walls before each inspection so i took them off and put them back up after it. they are easy enough to do that. they look so pretty.
