    +hpt 3 weeks after d&c

Hi everyone. I am just hoping for some advice. I had a D&C 3.5 weeks ago at 9 weeks with a blighted ovum. I have been testing weekly to see the hcg leave my system and the positive line on the hpt has been getting lighter. Just tested now and it is as light as last Sunday. There is no way I could be pregnant as I am LTTTC. Just wondering how long until the hcg will be gone altogether? The line looks like my previous 10/11dpo, so very light but still there. Using sensitive hpts at 15 hcg.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance xx

I made a post earlier almost the same stats as you. Although I had a natural miscarriage 3 weeks ago. I got a BFP today that would indicate pregnancy as the last 3 test I have taken in a span of over a week have been neg. I am not sure what LTTTC means??? But maybe you are pregnant.

When did your bleeding stop?? You may have to see the dr and get blood work done?

Hun, I'm really sorry for your loss.

Sometimes when you are further along in your pregnancy the levels take a bit longer to drop. I don't think anything up to 6weeks is abnormal, but I also don't think there is an 'average' timeframe.

Perhaps if you're worried your doctor will send you for a HCG series?

Im so sorry for your loss.

3 weeks after my D&C I still had some pg symptoms and my HPTs were very faint positives until about 4-5 weeks after the D&C. I kept hoping the lines would get darker, but they didnt, they just stayed really faint for ages.

As Kim said, maybe see your Dr if you are concerned.

I think from memory it took about 3-4 weeks to get a negative and then i started the opk tests...but i still think for the first few months they werent correct until everything was out of my system..sorry for you're loss

Mine took 8 weeks after a loss at 12wks. But it was a molar pregnancy, so that's actually quite fast.

Hi lovelies thank you so much for taking the time to reply and so sorry that you too have been in this situation. I tested weekly until about a week ago I have next to no faint positive. It is now 5.5 weeks since d&c. I am today what I think is about 12dpo. I have been testing last few days and I dare not hope but the line is back and a little darker. I just did a first response and there is a respectable second line.

What are the chances that I am pregnant? Or has anyone had fluctuating levels or positives post D&C? Goggle did say there were a few how had issues with levels due to some placental tissues being left over and causing hcg to continue to be produced. I know time will tell and will see my GP on Tue if the line gets stronger, but just had to ask.
    Any ideas? Thanks heaps x

Oh honey that would be fabulous!!! Between my HCG levels going Down and my BFP was about a week!! I got my BFP 6dpo I have been testing everyday since. It's taking ages to get darker!! I'm waiting on more tests as I have run out. But I took a digital one last week and I got preg 2-3+weeks and 4 days later I did another 3+ weeks!! I'm so excited for you. Keep us posted!!!!

Oh wow! How awesome would that be?! I hope you are love. Tbh I can't imagine any reason why ur hcg would increase after having dropped other than pregnancy. I hope you come and join our BB thread.

Hun, I am not trying to get your hopes up but if the line was going and is now getting darker you may be pregnant. However, you may also have retained placenta after the D&C and it is dividing iykwim? I was monitored via bloods and was told if my HCG was not <5 within a week, I would need a 2nd D&C, so it seems a very long time to still be getting a BFP on a HPT. Just because you are LTTTC does not mean that you arent pregnant, dont forget that. It might seem impossible but I am here to tell you it is NOT A D&C is very good at getting rid of all the 'old uterus lining' and giving a clean out and my understanding is that you can be very fertile in the first 3 months after a D&C. So after all that waffle, you may be but you may also not be. It is so confusing and overwhelming to be where you are but I think a blood test is your best bet. At least it will say yes or no Im crossing everything for you, hun

ETA: Retained placenta was totally not what I meant, sorry! I meant cells dividing

another who wishes that you are pg, that would be truly fantastic. My only worry would be if the pg is ectopic? Im asuming that they have checked this as you had an IVF scan for pg? sending you lots of love x

Just on that point about retained placenta. I would have thought that would keep your hcg levels high not drop them low and then increase iykwim? Same for ectopic issues. you won't get a drop and then an increase.

Hi everyone thanks for your replies. Dare I say it looks pretty positive. Hpt first response this morning showed a test line almost as dark as the control line. So something is definitely happening. Will call my ob in the morning to see what he suggests. Fingers crossed, will post back when I know xx
