I think I may have broken my wrist :(

I'm currently waiting for DP to get home as I think I need to see a Dr.

It happened yesterday when I had my dog at the park and when it started to rain, we ran to a shelter and he pulled my wrist and smashed my wrist on the underside of a picnic table.

It was so swollen, about the size of a half tennis ball. I thought it was just bruised, so I didn't worry too much about it. But this morning it is still very painful with the lightest touch.

I have some movement, but certain moves sends pain right up my arm. The rest off the time it is a really dull ache.

arrrggghhhh. Not easy to type with one hand either!

No point to this, just wanted to vent. It's only 2 months until our wedding, so I hope it's ok.

Ouch! Good luck at the Doctors. I hope you get some good pain relief. Till then if you have an easter egg lying around give that a go, chocolate might help for now

Try getting an icepack onto it, and keep it elevated. But yes, a trip to the doc sounds like the go even if it would most likely be the local after hours clinic or ER due to public holidays.

Ouch! Gosh I hope you don't have to spend all day at the doctors but best to have it seen too. What a way to start the long weekend :-(

Yeah the rules for injuries like that are RICE

    R-est
    I-ce
    C-ompression
    E-levation

If you have a bandage you can wrap around it to give it some support that is a good idea. With the ice put i on for 20mins and then off for 20 mins. Good luck... Oh and usually most fractures heal within 6 weeks. If you find yourself needing an operation it could take longer depending on how long it takes to get into surgery. Good luck. Don't hesitate to take some neurofen for the anti-inflammatory style pain relief if you don't have any of the contra-indications for having that and some panadol as well. If you son't have a sling at home then a pillow case or something will work. Try to keep the affected part of your wrist above your heart.

    Good Luck

Ouch, know the feeling about hands & weddings. DH was supposed to be in plaster for our wedding as he had broken his thumb. Told the Dr he was getting married so no plaster.

How did your visit to the Dr go?

oouch.. Hope you were given something for the pain, and you start healing soon..

If it makes you feel any better, I had a dog break my arm a few years back, in a similar way to how yours happened ..

Hmmmm. Most doctors will tell you it's ok to combine panadeine with nurofen, but not two of the same type. So this might be an option if it's really caning. Hope you're better soon!

If you get the panadiene with 10mg of codiene and also the neurofen plus that have 12.5mg of codiene you will only gotten a little less codiene than is what is in the panadiene forte which have 30mg per pill. Anyway glad it isn't too bad a break. Get better quick xx
