Thrush Cream and MCN's

Hi All,

It has been AGES since I posted in here because I pretty much gave up on cloth and put DS2 in sposies for an extended period of time.

However, I have decided to give it another go because I'm sick of spending nearly $100 a month on nappies and wipes!

Wouldn't you know though that DS2 would go and get a nasty nappy rash straight off the bat - I think it is thrush from the looks of it. Can I use Hydrozole or Canestan cream with MCN? Or do I have to keep him in sposies until it clears up?

I have fleece liners and also flushable liners that I use with the nappies...

Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated...

Hi Heidi!!! Long time no see

I'd use the liners and use some thrush cream - see how you go. Maybe a canestan rinse in the wash as well?

Mel: Thanks for the advice. DS2 just did a poo after lunch and it was agony changing him... he cried and screamed as I tried to only wipe as little as possible... his bottom is bleeding now and the rash is little bright red dots mostly... is that thrush? I'll have to try to get some Canestan rinse when we are finally able to go grocery shopping. DH has MAJOR abdominal surgery at the beginning of March and so has been working sporadically and money is tighter than ever! SIGH!! I shall see how we go and keep you posted... How are you??? Very busy I would imagine with your house full of children!! :-)
