Another recall - Maclaren strollers sold prior to 2009 (may be a US only thing)

Came across this in a news feed to my FB page - not sure if the mechanism was the same for Maclaren strollers sold in Australia...
Additional Fingertip Amputations and Lacerations Prompt Reannouncement of November 2009 Recall of Strollers by Maclaren USA

bit of a bummer for me because we are going to the US next month and I was going to buy a 2nd hand Maclaren - looks like that may not be such a good idea (sounds like the flaw was fixed in post-2009 Maclarens)

I'd still buy one, i have a twin and a single Maclaren stroller. TBH my kids are never near it when it is folded or unfolded. They are either in the car waiting for me to get them out or in the car while i fold it away. I haven't had an issue. If you did buy one you could always get the free hinge cover if you wanted.

this is actually an old recall i only know cause a mum in my mothers group brought it up when our children were babies so 3 years ago
she didnt find any issues with hers and like junglemum said her daughter was never around when it was folded or unfolded
